traveling with multiples!!

kritter, that sounds great! :goodvibes Tell me what you like about SSR, have only driven through once. Thanks.

Where do I begin..
SSR:
the quiteness of the whole resort
the rooms having a kitchen washer and dryer etc.. a huge plus and a money saver....
the zero entry pool and water slides
the fact of being soooo close to downtown disney
the feeling of being welcomed home since we are vacation club owners
the cleaniness of the whole resort
the at home feeling
the playgrounds my kids favorites
the barbecues
the jacuzzi tubs
the atmosphere
the SPA!!!
and the openess of the rooms we have gotten one bedrooms and they are great
The resort it large but small feeling and sooo quiet
Sorry we just love it there and have stayed everywhere from all star to the floridian and this is by far our favorite......

AshAlytwins, right now we're planning on arriving November 19 and leaving the morning of November 25 (it's about an 18 hour drive). So we'd be leaving when you're arriving. However, now DH is saying he's afraid it might be too crowded and wants to go maybe the week later. I'm having a hard time pulling the kids out of school for a week. That's a lot of work to have to make up, especially since Mom will be the one helping them with their make up work.

When we went last October we stayed at Staybridge Suites. It was pretty nice, and really big, and reasonably priced. This time I'm hoping to find a better deal and yes, I just heard that the All Star will be having some family suites, I put in a request for some prices but haven't heard anything yet. I can't find anywhere online where I can check availability myself for these suites. DH really wants to stay at AK but we just can't afford that.

Here's my info:

Name: Lisa
Screen name: LisaGoeke
Twins: fraternal boys, Jacob and Nicholas, 4 1/2
Will be at WDW: Undecided but sometime around Thanksgiving 2006
Place I call Home: St. Louis
Occupation: SAHM to 4 great kids!

I am justifiing our 1 night stay at Ak because I got a great rate of $63/night for our 3 night stay at Pop. Plus, this may be our last during the school year trip because it is getting harder to pull the girls out of school . They will miss 5 days this year, but we have had no trouble with making up the work. I have to agree with your husband about the crowds during Thanksgiving week, I believe that it will be crowded. Maybe the week later will work better for you!

Hi all just wanted to stop in and say hi:wave: ...

I cleaned out my girls closets and was looking at our spring summer things this weekend so that ended up in a trip to Walmart to put some shorts and things on layaway for play clothes. Almost all of their things were either too small or were looking pretty crappy. I am hoping that when we take Kori to Columbus for her Dr's appointment I can convince DH to stop at the mall for some therapy shopping at gymboree. I am so ready for spring.

WOW have you guys seen that our first page is sooo big now...Love the fact that we have soo many families here now...... :cheer2: :cheer2:

Oh I soo love gymboree too...I just got the childrens place flyer and feel the need to go and order something as well...

Is anyone here a DVC owner if so where???
I so recommend these resorts if you go to WDW a lot....They are wonderful and so nice...

Had the four year well care check up today..the kids were sooo upset about the shots and all...

I always loved gymboree clothes - I was sad when my kids got too big for them.

We own DVC at SSR. I think one of the great things for larger families (as many on this thread are) is the ability to sleep more than 4 or 5. But I wish there were more options for families of 6 - like a 1-1/2 br villa :goodvibes

Lisa - I don't know what kind of rooms you're thinking about but we've stayed in the "junior suite" (aka deluxe room) at both WL and BW. It not a villa but - just a larger room at BW and actually 2 rooms at WL with 2 queens in the bedroom area and a sleeper couch/queen in the living room area. One bathroom. Two tv's. Wet bar. And I got a real good AP rate once. The room at WL is a little less than the one at BW and it has a more spacious layout (or so it seemed) - I know I've seen floor plans somewhere.
And I saw someone on the Resorts page said they booked an all star suite today for July!

Love this thread! :disrocks:

We are also DVC owners. Our home resort is the BWV. We purchased before we had kids and am so glad now to have the extra room, kitchen and laundry.
Ellen god bless you with quads. I always said I can't imagine having 1 more
Where in Nj are you?

Hi again! We own at SSR, made our first trip home last December. We enjoyed it quite a bit, and I loved having the kitchen and washer/dryer.

Amazing how many families there are on here with multiples! SO nice to have this board.

Can I just share that my kids are sick AGAIN this winter!?! Will spring never come? Since November we haven't had two weeks in a row that all of us have been healthy. I am one overwhelmed momma today.

We're DVC owners as well at both OKW and BWV. With 3 growing girls, need all the room and 2 bathrooms :teeth: Has spoiled us for staying in anything other than timeshares. Did a girls only trip to Chicago while DH was golfing last spring and the girls were looking for the other bedroom when we checked into the hotel!

I'm another one with sick kids. DD has a sinus infection and is on major antibiotics - adult dose. She slept almost all day yesterday, and is sleeping again today. Thank goodness her twin is bringing home the work she's missing at school. Between this week and last, she's missed 5 days so far. Would have been 6, but Monday was a school holiday. Better now than in two weeks when we leave for WDW and the cruise.

Here's to hoping warm weather brings better health for all our children.

I agree we need the warmer weather...We just got over pneumonia, and bronchitis here plus a sinus infection.....UGH!!!
SPRING COME QUICKLY!!!!!!

I am so happy that we own the DVC glad we bought when the kids were little so they can grow up having it...We did it on the first time we stayed on site with the twins.. THe first trip we stayed off site at a friends house second time at GF and that is when we bought,....Love it and the resorts are wonderful....When we do go to a regular hotel room the kids say to us that is it not SSR.../..When we went to fort lauderdale last year the kids were upset it was jsut a regular room.....

Just stopped in to say HI! I have been reading all your posts on the advantages of DVC resorts and I just may have to look at that. I have always been a bit concerned with renting points but that is what I would like to do 1st to get a feel for it. We have done conc. the last few trips and that was wonderful!! and Expensive. It really was worth it just because my DH could get up, go to the lounge & read the paper while we slept a while. Then when DD awoke, sent her to the CL. DS could then sleep until EMH bound! The main point is DH was soooo happy to have this option. I'm sure it is the only reason he loves WDW too. I guess you would have all the same perks (except the GREAT evening appetizers!) OK, all you "DVC with multiples" folks, convince me to look at DVC! :confused3
Have a great night!

YOu should look into it..The accomidations are fab....!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

You will wish that you had joined sooner...The thing is once you stay at a DVC resort you will never want to go back...YOu can use your points to stay at the other resorts and still do CL...Obviuously you use more points...It is sooo worth it...Let me know if I can answer any questions for you...

My DH is an earlier riser too. He will take a walk down to the Boardwalk and get coffee and the paper and sit on the balcony and relax and people watch, or go and use the health club or go running, until the rest of us get moving. It is also WONDERFUL to have the option of not having to eat at a restaurant. After being at the pool for the afternoon, many times I'll head back before the rest of the family and get cleaned up and start making dinner. Usually nothing fancy, spaghetti, mac'n cheese, sloppy joe's, but it's great to be able to sit and relax.

I also like the washer/dryer. No more wet, smelly bathing suits. Pop them in the washer and the dryer on low, and VIOLA! I also pack half of what I used to and plan on doing laundry. It's really no big deal to throw a load in before we head out, and throw them in the dryer when we get back. I love coming home with clean clothes.

Another positive vote for DVC! We've only been members since January, 2005, but we LOVE it!

We went the first time in December, and had a great time. Our home resort is SSR, and it was very nice. The bus service was not the best to the parks, but I've been told that that has changed since then. Beautiful resort, and I LOVED how close it was to Downtown Disney! My mom and I would get the kids settled and then head out to do some shopping! :)

Also, we've just planned a last minute trip for June 8-11. If not for being DVC members, there would have been no way we could've gone. Gotta love that last minute planning!

On another note, my kids are finally feeling better, thanks for all your kind words. So help me, we better not get sick again for at least two weeks!

Anyone on this thread going to be in WDW around Easter?

I second you with the washer and dryer...I love that I do not have to come home with dirty clothes....

The extra rooms in the villa are great now, because we can put the kids to bed and we can still stay up and not have to tiptoe around. I am sure as they get oldaer the extra bed/bath rooms will be a necessity.
