traveling with multiples!!

There is more than one store which I just discovered myself. A bit further down past the food area there are two little shops (combined in one store) that sell Bahama merchandise and shorts, beachwear, sunglasses, trinkets, straw bags, etc.

Finally went through my 1500 :earseek: pictures. Here is one of my favorites of my two. They are 8 1/2 years old (and definitely not identical, LOL). :sunny:

And of course, can't forget the shoes in our stateroom. :rolleyes1

Those pictures are great- your kids are adorable.

The shoe picture remindes me of my first trip to Disney. I was a sophmore and we preformed in WDW. A team of 15 teenage girls (I was a baton twirler) and their moms with all of our luggage and equipment you would think we were moving there not visiting for 4 days. :rotfl2: My mam has a picture of one of the luggage racks being pulled by 2 young attendants and there were 2 more just like it. they were piled high.

Happy Saturday everyone! I can't believe it has been more than three weeks since I have visited this thread. Reading this thread, I have just figured out why my DW enjoys attending MOTC meetings so much. Everyone needs to vent to someone who truly knows what a parent of twins is going thru. Anyone who says have two children close together is just as hard as twins is "off their rocker".
My wife and I recently attended a memorial service at St Louis Children's Hospital for all the children who died in the hospital during December. We lost our four year old niece to cancer. This was much harder than her funeral. I think it was so hard because this may be the last thing I will ever do for Mallory. One family lost a three day old identical twin boy on Christmas morning, his brother is still NICU. I wanted to go over and say something to the family but for once in my life I couldn't talk. I can't image what it must be like to look at a baby and know you are missing the other half.
I am currently sitting at my desk at the Fire Station having completed 57 of a 72 hour shift, mandatory overtime on my between day. I am really missing my family, espeacially the hugs from my babies. You cant look into the eyes of a two year old and not know some how everything is going to be OK. :grouphug: so I thought I could get my therapy here. Have any of you nurses ever noticed bad stuff at work runs in threes? During this shift I have intubated three people(two full cardiac arrests and a 23 year old who overdosed).
So much for this nonsence, lets talk twins!
We recently put our Lil' Angels into twin beds. They share a room. While in cribs they never caused a problem at bed time. Bed time was our saving grace. We were able to put the girls to bed and then spend time with our boys, doing homework, watching TV or doing whatever. Now every night is a slumber party. Wednesday night just after midnight I awoke to screams of my Janna yelling Dad, Dad, Daddy. In my blurry vision and stupur I ran to their room wondering what was wrong and why was their light on. Imagine my shock to see my princess: princess: princesses in their pink footy PJ's wearing Mickey crowns and boas sitting at their table with their dolls having a tea party. Janna looked up and said matter of factly "daddy, we need cookies for party". Life lesson learned, Just because I need to sleep, doesn't mean two and a half year old twins need to sleep now!
Since my last post asking about potty training twin girls I have learned a second very important life lesson, just because Daddy thinks his darling princesses are ready to use the potty DOES NOT mean his princesses think THEY need to use the potty :lmao: It only took four days for them to teach me that lesson. I still have 133 days to get the job done before our cruise.
Well, Thanks for letting me ramble. Have a great weekend.

medic...

YES I have noticed the rule of 3 before.

I so know what you mean about the "tea parties" in th emiddle of the night. Sometimes my girls still do this, and they are 4. My girls share a queen size bed they don't want to seperate.

I am just so glad I don't have to potty train again. But then again Kenni has become the bathroom inspector.she hasn't found one that she didn't want to try out.

Reminds me of another middle of the night story. One of my coworkers had 4 yo twin girls who were missing one night. She found a trail of cereal leading out to the car. :scared1: Found them sitting out there eating cheerios, giggling and having a great time. :earseek:

Oh my gosh we soooo love these stories of twins....

we have missed you!!!!

my twins still do things like this..the other day when I had to take hope for an chest x-ray hanna hollared outside the door with my dh I have never been apart from my sisser and i wiil not start now....the x-ray tech was laughing soooo hard...they really do have a bond our twins and multiples.!!!!

We have returned from another basketball weekend!!!!
My girls just last summer separated in to 2 bedrooms at the age of 12.
Glad to have gotten caught up again with you guys ( how Pennslyvanian)
Keep sharing those cruise stories!!!! :rotfl:

Hopefully you young parents won't think this OLD mom is nuts. I have lots of wonderful twin stories and they will always be very fond memories for me. Talking about the twins not wanting to be separated....When one of my identical boys was almost to his wedding day he seemed a bit down. I asked if something was wrong with him. If he was really not wanting to get married or what. He said no, he really loved his wife to be, but he was just having a hard time adjusting to moving out of our house and away from his brother. I told him that he would just be a few blocks away and he said "But it's not the same as sleeping in the same room as my brother". I guess his brother felt the same way because within 8 months his brother got married too...then they bought houses that the backyards would join if it wasn't for a church parking lot in between them. They just have to walk out one back door, across the parking lot and into the other back door. They also work together at their jobs. I guess I can't blame them...we are a very close family. My youngest DD bought the house next door to us, and on the other side of her house is her husband's family's home. I'm am truly blessed! :cloud9: :grouphug:

oh my gosh that is such a sweet story thanks so much for sharing......

I think you really are blessed..Us young moms can only hope for all of this,...

OMG....what a fantastic story. I get so blue when I think of my girls only having 5 more years of school, then off to college. I will miss them today when they are at track practice after scool till 5!! :guilty:

Add me to the list!

My twin boys are 4 1/2. We took a Disney Cruise when they were 2 1/2. That was a really hard age and also difficult since we couldn't utilize the kids club. We cruised another line last October and it was sooo much better, especially since they were potty trained. :teeth: We also spent a few days in the parks before the cruise.

Right now we're planning on going back to the parks the week of Thanksgiving. I've been trying to find a reasonable place that can hold all six of us.

We will be at AKL the night of Nov. 25....then cruiseing the 26-30, then Pop the 30th till Dec. 3rd....when are you going???

Lisa when our kids were younger we just couldn't afford to stay on site with 6 of us (except for the year we camped). But the resorts were just too expensive for rooms that would accomodate 6 or 2 rooms. So, for those years we stayed off site in a condo or private home. They were great, reasonable prices, kitchen we could cook in and save money that way, and everybody had their own space. We did have to rent a car but it really worked well for us for the time in our lives that we were at. We love staying on site, but to get a reasonable place to stay for a family of 6 it might be worth looking into. (We were only about 5 miles from WDW).

You can add me to the list! My twins are now 8 and it has gotten sooooo much easier! They are boy/girl and I also have a 12yr DD, 10yr DS, and a 1 1/2 yr DS! Yes I have 5! When the twins were born I had 4,4 and under! That was HARD! We took the twins to WDW for the first time when they were 2 and one of them had a broken leg at the time! It was an interesting trip! We did have a good time though. We just went back again for the first time last April and it was sooooo much easier! Even with the baby who was only ten months at the time! No double stroller or double the diapers, stuff like that. We are going again May 10th - the 14th and will be on the cruise this December! It does get easier as they get older and then when you look back you can't figure out how you made it through :goodvibes but you do!

Now that sounds like my type of vacation!! :rainbow:

Lisa, did you know they are offering "suites" now at a Value resort - I believe All Star Music? They sound perfect for your family if you want to stay onsite and not break the bank. I think they sleep at least 6, and they have a little kitchenette for around $210/night, could probably lower that using AAA and traveling off season if possible. If I can find the thread about it I'll post it here, but check Deb's and Mousesavers, I think they mention them also.
