Planning a trip for next summer and by then will have 3 kids - 9, 7, and 7 months. Was debating between renting a condo and a car, or staying in Disney. Have heard from some sites that you need to rent a car with an infant because of convenience...plus since we plan on going to Universal as well, we will probably need to take a cab - don't want to be lugging car seats around.
Any thoughts?

I get that...trying to figure out if it is feasible to stay in Disney with an infant and whether or not I will need to bring a car seat and rent a car anyway.

I think it is less hassle to stay on site and use the buses/boats/monrail to get around. Though you need to understand that you may not always get a seat on the bus, and may end up either having to stand and hold your infant, or step aside and wait for the next bus. If you wear your baby it won't be as big a deal.

In my experience having a car is more convenient. Lots of waiting around for buses... We are going in September and staying at VWL but will use a car for all parks except MK.

We have stayed on Disney property and in timeshares. On Disney property we used the bus to go back and forth to the parks and I hated having to wait. When you want to leave you want to get in your car and go!! I also hated being restricted to eat at the hotel or parks! (and that was before the kids came!) I couldn't imagine doing the busses with my two kids (4 and 1). We always rent a car - we have the freedom to go shopping, go to different restaurants every day and just about anywhere else u need to go. That's just my opinion. Good luck!

Couldn't agree more. Also, if you eat some meals offsite you could likely save enough to cover the cost of your car rental and gas.

Completely agree...and to add, if you rent a car you can go food shopping and have one or two meals in the condo instead of eating out 3 times a day! Even more money back in your pocket! Hope we helped a little!
