I will be flying Delta to Connecticut later this week. Since I am a stone's throw from Kentucky where ciggs are "cheap" or so I am told, I was thinking of buying a carton for my brother in law to bring with me on my trip. the carton will be unopened as I am not a smoker and have no reason to open the carton.

My question is whether there is any problem taking that amount of ciggs from one state to another. Thanks!

One carton for "personal use" shouldn't be a problem---I think that's even under the international duty-free limit, but I have no idea, as I'm not a smoker either. It's just not your personage using them.

You may want to put them in your carryon, so they don't go walking off.

I just brought 2 cartons of cigarettes back from Aruba and had no problem at all and I went through Aruban and US customs. The cigs were in my carry-on. The only time I've heard of them being confiscated is if the person carrying them is under the legal age for buying cigarettes.

My husband is a smoker, we live on Long Island where a pack of smokes is about $5-$6 per pack. Do they sell smokes at WDW? Is it cheaper to buy there than home? We will staying at the CR so we won't have a car, so going to a nearby store is not an option. What's the most economic way to go?

I buy smokes for my DD (25) all the time in Florida. It usually about $25.00 or so for a carton and I have had no trouble flying with a carton or two for her in my carryon. If you can get to one of the Hess stations on property and buy smokes for under $30.00 a carton (Marlboro's).

I have never bought smokes from the Disney shops so I can't help you on the prices, but I'm sure they are much more expensive there, but may be cheaper than you are used to paying.

The easist Hess station to get to would be the one in the DTD area. It's across the street from Disney Quest. Take the bus to DTD west end and walk across the street.
