Traveling in Aug

Does anyone know if there are any special rates or packages for the beging of Aug. My husband is a teacher so we can go at the end of august. Why can't I seem to get one of those 40% coupons!!!!

Can we assume that you already have the AAA discount? It ranges from 15-20% during value season and is open to anyone holding an AAA card. It's well worth the annual fee from AAA.

There are a limited number of rooms per resort that can get the discount at any one time, but with a little luck and flexibility it could save you some money.

As to the PIN code, no one is really sure just how Disney selects the lucky recipients. But ordering the trip planning DVD and pricing some options on the website certainly can't hurt your chances.

I would get AAA and use that discount if you don't get a pin code. Or you can wait and see if free dining is offered the end of August.

I went the same dates as Aliceacc, from Aug. 13-19 in 2006. At that time free dining was offered and thats the main reason we went. They didn't announce the offer until around April-May. It was also the best time to offer it because it was right before school. I think we just have to wait a couple months.

Unfortunately those same August dates were not included in free dining for 2007. I know, I tried to choose my August 2007 dates by the history for August 2006, so choose Aug. 15-22, and when the free dining came out, it didn't begin until August 26th. So we were left out in the cold with no free dining for August in 2007. Also I got the magic 40% pin too last summer and those dates were also not included -- I think you had to arrive by Aug. 22. We choose our dates this year (10-20) with no expectations of free dining for 2008. However, I was lucky enough to get the 40% pin and the dates stated with August 10th. So I got a discount on my room, which I would gladly give up for free dining.
