Travelaxe and hotelclub - reliable?

I am getting a bit nervous! I just booked some rooms at Comfort suites maingate east, using the Travelaxe software, via www.hotelclub.com. I heard about this in the Unofficial Guide book, so I figured it was reliable.

This was the only place that allowed me to book rooms there, as everyone else said they were sold out! So I paid and got a confirmation page that I must take to the hotel. They say don't call the hotel to ask them about the booking, as they won't know about it until 2 days prior to our stay. Is this normal?

Do they block off rooms to be sold on various websites? I'm trying to figure out why rooms were still available on www.hotelclub.com and nowhere else. I hope it's for real!

I know for AAA that even WDW will block off rooms - I don't know about a website.

if you aren't leaving until your reservation - I would call 2 days ahead - they should be able to verify it then.
