Travel Insurance question

I never buy it from the cruise line - who is to protect you if they go bankrupt? Who will refund you the money if they are the ones to refuse to sail?

I also never buy it from a travel agent for very similar reasons.

Independent insurance is the way to go, and is a TON cheaper and you may thoroughly review your options and what is most important to you.

Disney's insurance is not bad in the way of coverage, but it is more expensive than you can get independently.

We have used Travel Guard a couple times and they have been very good (we had a major claim related to our last cruise and they were great in taking care of it). www.travelguard.com

buying travel insurance through a TA shouldn't be an issue ... even if the TA goes out of business after you've purchased the insurance ... it's not llike the TA is the insurance company or the one actually underwriting your policy ... and TA's do sell insurance from the major insurance companies (like Travel Guard and Access America, etc.) so you shouldn't have to be concerned about an insurance company going out of business either.
