How do these plans compare to what is offered by American Express Platinum Card?

How about compared to what Disney offers as a purchase?

I have no idea about the credit card coverage, but our Allianz plan has much higher limits on almost everything that’s covered. In particular, emergency medical transportation of $500,000 compared to $30,000 for the DCL coverage, and $50,000 for emergency medical and dental compared to $20,000 for the DCL coverage. Those two are our particular concerns, since medical evacuation can be very costly. The one place where the DCL coverage is better is trip cancellation and trip interruption where the DCL coverage is up to $20,000 while our Allianz policy limit is only $10,000. We have purchased added coverage at added cost some years when our travel plans involved more expensive trips.

Another major difference between the travel insurance offered through Disney Cruise Line and insurance booked separately is that the insurance through DCL covers only the cruise, unless airfare and hotels are also booked through DCL. Other insurance can cover you from departure from home to arrival back. This could cover, for instance, needing medical care while sightseeing in the port city the day before the cruise, missing the ship because your flight was cancelled or significantly delayed, or an accident on the way back to the airport that causes you to miss your flight home.

Bump. Still have not bought the insurance but feel ready to move forward now that we have our airline arrangements all figured out. Was about to push through on a plan offered through travelinsurance.com when I got a weird feeling about buying through an aggregator site I really know nothing about.

Has anyone here purchased insurance through travelinsurance.com? Is there any benefit to purchasing from one of those sites? Is there a benefit to purchasing directly from the site of the insurance company's plan that you have chosen?

Being unfamiliar w/ travel insurance, I have to say this has been one of the more stressful aspects of our cruise planning - probably made more so by me penchant for over-thinking (resulting in posts like these, possibly). It has been re-assuring to read the responses here and other insurance related posts. Thanks to all who have contributed to helping me sort through it all and ease my mind a bit.

I think it should be the same plan. If it makes you feel better, research your options on the aggregator site and then go directly to the vendor's site. I always recommend reaching out directly to the vendor to ask even a few basic questions if you don't have specific coverage questions. You want to feel comfortable with the company and that the plan you purchase will meet your needs.
