Travel Industry Discounts - How to book?

Kat77 said:
I located a list of sample interline discount rates but could not determine what the 'villa' rate constituted (studio, 1bdr??).... the villas at wilderness lodge was listed @ $147.50/nt (dec. value season) BUT what type of room is this? HELP!
I hate to call up Disney until I am absolute about what I want to book... ugh! Our party is 2 adults and 4 children under age 9 so booking two rooms would mean dh and I dividing up. :teleport: Where can we sleep 6 poeple and not go broke? FW Cabins is looking like our only option unless said villas are not studios.... any knowledge or thoughts? TIA
If it says Villa that would be the studio.

Can you please send me the # to call. As it will be worth looking into and see what info they want also who knows if there will be somthing open for when we are wanting to go. But heck for 50% off its worth looking into

I'm an airline employee as well and yes, we do get 50% off the rooms when available. I'm not sure if airline employees can add on tickets and dining - it appears this is something new that TAs can do.

Your best bet is to call Disney CRO and tell them you are an airline employee. They will ask you to fax over several items to substantiate you are indeed an active employee and then they will book your ressie.

Good luck - we've used the discount several times. Unfortunately next Friday is my last day with my company so I'm no longer entitled - but it was nice while it lasted :)

I think you just call the regular reservation number and they will either make the reservation or direct you to the proper department. Be prepared to answer alot of questions and fax them proper paperwork, which they do check very carefully. They have to do this to be sure that everyone is being honest with them. :sunny:

I know for travel agent discounts, reservations are no longer allowed to be made over the phone, they will cut you off and not deal with you and will direct you to the website. I know because I tried to act "stupid" but it did not work...I prefer to book with a 'real person'. After making your on line reservation you MUST fax over a copy of your ID with your travel info listed on it. If you don;t do this within the 24 hour time period, your reservation will not be cancelled but will automatically go to rack rate. As a travel agent you are allowed 2 rooms per travel agent.

Kind of a pain this way because it is not really room specific...

This is only true for US based agents. The rest of us must call to make our ressies as our travelagents website does not allow us to book TA discounts.

I believe it is only one room.

This is correct. It reads that you can only book one room and the travel agent must be occupying that room. The same goes for CM room discounts.

As a US based travel agent you are definately allowed 2 rooms per 1 tA. I know this for a fact bacause I just did this 2 weeks ago. I called to ask and I was told up to 2 rooms per TA discount. Each room gets it's own reservation number. The TA must be travelling and has to be on one of the rooms (obiviously). My reservations for December (2 rooms) are both TA discounted.....I faxed over my ID and the next day received my confirmations 2 rooms...both discounted.

I was told I could do 2 rooms but that I must be in reception for check in for BOTH rooms, so if my family members arrived before me, they could not check in until I arrived, similarly, 2 years ago, when our flight arrived first we had to hang out at the resort so I could check in the second room before heading out to play.

I was allowed to book two rooms as well. We are a family of six and needed two rooms to stay at the CR this Thanksgiving. At one point I had three reservations as I booked my two rooms at CR before I cancelled my cabin reservation. Disney reservations called before I was able to cancel the cabin! They have a team that monitors TA reservations and will call the TA if you have more than two rooms booked.

Sounds like there are different offers depending on if you are an airline employee or a travel agent.

I called CRO and had no problem booking 2 rooms, but it was a max of 2 rooms and I need to be in one of them.

In the past, when my folks decided to go a couple days earlier, they would only let them have the discount for the days I was there.

I'm an interliner also and use Dynamic Travel based in Southlake, Texas. The secure nonrev section of their website states that retirees are eligible for discounts at Disney hotels. You might want to try contacting them.

Does anyone else have any info regarding retirees taking advantage of the discount via an Interline company?

I read a few posts earlier in the thread that stated retirees were not able to take advantage of the discount by booking directly. However, perhaps going thru Interline would work...??? Anybody?

My Dad just retired after 40 years with AA. We have yet to take a WDW trip w/out him! I'd love to be able to get a huge discount...who wouldn't?!?!?!

It says on the TA site ONE ROOM. :confused3

It does not specify "only 1 room"...it says the TA must be in the room--I know it says ROOM (singular) but no where does it say 1 room only. The TA must be in 1 ROOM of the 2 room reservation but must have the same travel dates and must check in with the entire travel party. It says ROOM because 1 person cannot be in 2 rooms at the same time.

I must be seeing things looking at my WDW TA travel industry ID validation team confirmed reservations for 2 rooms discounted.

This is what it says.
The use of the discounted package offer is restricted to retail travel agents who must occupy the room with their guests. The offer is non-commissionable and non-transferable. Rooms must be booked a minimum of 6 days prior to arrival. Agents are required to show their valid IATAN or CLIA ID card at check-in at the confirmed Select Disney Resort Hotel upon check-in.

Yes the TA can only occupy one room. I tried to go through the process of getting two rooms and it doesn't have such an option. If you put in too many people in your party it says change your party number. If two rooms are alouded, that's great but online I don't see how it's done and you have to do it online.

I was told to book one room with my name and two children listed in the room and then I booked the second room listing my husband and two children. I then printed out both reservations and faxed both with my IATA card. I was afraid they would cancel the room with my husband's name since he is not an agent but they said they would link it with my room- I had also requested connecting rooms. They have been very helpful answering questions over the phone- they just can't book or check availability. Hope this helps!

Well I did mine on line (both rooms). When you complete one reservation (room) you have to start over again and do another one. Did you read my post where it says each room ahd it's own reservation number? There is a max number allowed in each room (each resort is different) so if you are putting too manypeople in 1 room it will not allow it.

I know it is allowed and can be done, very easily. I know exactly what the website says, I am a TA owner.

There seems to be some conflicting reports. :confused3 My question is, if Disney allows you to book 2 rooms using this discount, will they honor that at check-in even though some say you can only book one room. I would hate to get charged rack rate for the second room unexpectedly at check-in. Thanks. :)

It is not conflicting. Some people just don't know how to book 2 rooms.

You will not be charged rack rate at check in because you must fax your ID over (with the reservation numbers) after making the reservation. If you do not send the TA ID verification dep't the proper id, your reservations will go to rack rate 48 hours after making the reservation. When you check in your reservation will have been already paid in full. There will not be a problem at check in. I have never been asked for my TA ID at check in either, even though I always carry it.

Just call the above 800# posted they will be able to answer all your questions there. You will need your CLIA or IATA # to get thru and must be registered with WDW TC.

Does anyone know if ASM Family Suites are available for booking with the discount? (I am doubting it but thought I would ask JIC. LOL!)

Also, would you experienced Disney vacayers recommend booking 2 mod or 2 value rooms? Travelling in Dec. with four kids under 9 and not really sure what to expect. Assuming parks closing early...what would a mod offer during off time that a value would not and is that worth $60 difference?
