Travel from CDG

HI all!

Me and my gf are going to DLRP on the 13th feb for valentines.
i was just wondering what the best (and cheapest!) option was to get to disney.
we are staying at the Holiday Inn. The problem is we only land at 9.30pm local time.
Also was just wondering where everyone purchases their park tickets from.
we are looking at getting a 3day hopper and the £74 we have quoted on 365tickets is the cheapest we have come accross. Anyone know of anywhere cheaper?

The £74 for a three day hopper is good. Just check if they charge any extras - say for posting the tickets to you. Otherwise the three day hopper on the gate is 113 euros - about £81 at the current exchange rate. If you're planning to go again within the year, and not at peak time, you might want to consider an Fantasy Annual Passport for 119 euros!!!

On certain days, the last VEA shuttle is about 10 pm and goes to Holiday Inn, among others. This would cost you 14 euros each. If you miss it, it would probably have to be a taxi, but always sort out a price before you set off, to avoid a shock!! I also heard a tip that you should avoid the expensive looking cars, as they charge more!!

Arriving at 9.30pm is probably going to make it tight to catch VEA shuttle.
I'll have a look to see if I can find any posts on alternatives as unfortunately the private hire shuttle we used stopped trading.

Agreed! Though if we're talking about flying into Terminal 3 and everything goes smoothly, it might be possible!

Could always catch the internal bus at CDG over to Terminal 2 - and then catch the TGV up to Marne-La-Vallee.

It's only 1 stop - and a 10 minute journey. Been looking at doing this myself, from looking at pricing it was working our around €18 return per person.

Bexx not sure where you heard that expensive looking cars charge more. Thats not the case. All real taxis have a meter and the meters all charge the same. What you should avoid is people in the airport asking if you need a taxi. These are illegal taxis and will at the least rip you off and at the worst could be dangerous. Be sure to get a taxi from the stand. I have heard a taxi costs about 100 euros.

If you miss the VEA shuttle then the cheapest way to get there considering the time would be to take the RER to central Paris Chatelet and then change lines and take it out to Disney then catch the hotel shuttle to the hotel. Travel time is 1h30 mins or so to the disney station if you make the 10:25 RER train from the airport. I think it would cost around 17 or 18 euros per person but not quite sure, could be less but shouldnt be more.

You must have been drumming up business then, since we have had a few recent visitors from across the Atlantic looking at visiting DLP/Paris/Europe

As to the price of 100 euros, that is the top end of the amazingly different prices I have heard quoted. If it really is that much it's probably best booking a private shuttle - I've heard that RS transport charge a more reasonable price than some.

I've certainly not heard of a taxi to DLP costing as much as E100. It should be in the vicinity of E60, unless you are arriving on a public holiday at a late (or early) hour when prices can go up.

Still the cheapest way would be to use the RER, as Morgan says. Take the RER service on Line B all the way in to Châtelet Les Halles (about 40 minutes), then change there for Line D to Marne-la-Vallée (another 35-40 minutes). It is a simple enough route at off-peak times but much harder to negotiate with luggage in the morning or evening rush hour. For RER info (in English), call 00 33 1 36 68 41 14 or look up www.ratp.fr and click on the International Passengers button.

Bexx, its okay, there's much confusion about Paris taxis which, in my experience at least, are must more honest than one is lead to believe. Perhaps some of the ideas come from people who have fallen victim to the illegial taxis and thought they were real ones. Nice to be back

Simon, you could be right on the price as I have never done the trip myself. I actually caculated it based on distance and fare rate etc and came out with something closer to your price but I keep see 100 euros tossed about. I guess again it depends on when you travel as far as traffic etc but yeah I would have thought it would be closer to what you are saying.

Hi Iain. The schedule varys according to the day of the week. Whats your travel date? I use www.voyages-sncf.com also for my times. I just noticed something interesting however, on ccunsworths travel date there is one last train at 21h54. It's a Thalys from Belgium and both the SNCF and Thalys site says the fare is not available on the net which is why I didnt see it the first time because I was using the booking engine rather than the schedule search. I am not sure why you cant book on the net for this train or if it's possible to do it in the station.

Nikki - I've just being looking back on a few threads, whilst in the process of doing some research, and I found a post where I mentioned that my SIL was quoted 100 euros from CDG!!!! I have also read posts from people, saying they were charged about 35 euros for the same trip!!!!!
