So for our flight home from Disney we will have a cross-country (6-7 hours) flight with a short layover to change planes when we're almost all the way home. Given the situation, getting food enroute isn't practical but we're all going to need to eat.

1. Foods must travel well. Food must not get us in trouble with TSA. (No soup!)
2. We are leaving our resort around 8 am. We will not have the time to go farther than the Port Orleans Riverside food court. (Earl of Sandwich is not an option, though I know it's a favorite.)

What would you pick up either that morning or the night before for eating on the way home? We're on the DxDDP, so while we will have used all our meal credits, we could easily allocate snack credits to this venture or pay OOP.

Personally, I'd wait until I got to the airport to get something. If you buy something like a sandwich (I don't even know if they are selling them that early) early in the morning it's going to be gross by the time you decide to eat it. I'd grab breakfast at the airport and either eat it there or take it on the plane. Most cross-country flights offer food on the plane either for free or to buy so I'd just get something on the flight if I didn't think I could wait. I always fly with some sort of munching food in my bag, nut mix or protein bar or even chips (gasp) or candy (double gasp). You could use any left over snack credits and go to the gift shop and see what's available in the grab and go section as well. You can be scoping it out during your stay so you don't have to make any kind of last minute rush decision.

If you buy any sandwiches the night before, you might want to pick ones that might not get soggy or deconstruct them and put them back together when you are ready to eat them. Fruit or veggies are also good for traveling. Cheeses wedges or sticks would also be good to take with you.

I would maybe get some fruit or prepackaged snacks to have on the plane and have breakfast at the airport.

I would go to any place that makes sandwiches to order. Ask them to hold the tomatoes or anything else that will add moisture and ask for the sauce/mayo on the side. Salads hold up well.

We used up all of our snacks and leftovers in France. Everything was already packaged up and not very messy. Couple of the cheese plates, ham and cheese sandwich, LOTS of desserts :)

I like the packets of almond butter and beef jerky (two separate things:)). Neither need refrigeration and could brought with you before going to WDW. Fruit, chips, bread, bars, crackers, dry cereal (maybe get milk on the plane), and pretzels would work too. You should be able to get some of those from the food court of general store at the hotel.

We do this all the time.
I get something to eat at the airport and then to take on the airplane.....granola bars, nuts, fruit...fresh and dry, trail mix

Cheese plates! That's perfect. We have AK scheduled for our final day but we're considering hopping to another park in the evening. Maybe that needs to be Epcot for a last trip to France.

Cheese plates are a great idea! Coupled with some bagels from the POR food court in the morning, and you'll be good to go!
