Travel City Direct - Checking in at Manchester

Hello Folks!

My DF Dad has just told me that when we get to Manchester to check in the TCD desks are located UNDER the train station.

Is this true? I didnt get chance to ask him where the information had come from and his explanation was that there are too many tour operators around when we are traveling and not enough room for them all in the main terminals. He says out luggage is stowed behind the check in desks and then taken away in trucks. He does have a work colleague who has just returned from Orlando so I would guess this is from him. It just seems a little wierd to me, Whenever I have caught the train to Manchester Airport I would not have said there was enough space for a check in desk near the train station.

I'm not so sure that it is under the station but it is definetely now situated at the station. Upon your return you will collect your luggage as normal.

Has anybody used TCD and had to check in at the Train Station?

I am just wondering if it is a nightmare with crowd levels etc, Should we leave etc time for checking in?

We didn't cheak in at the train station but we did travel with tcd and the wait to cheak in was terrible.We must have waited a good 45-1hour just for that.

We flew with TCD a couple of weeks ago to Egypt. Check in was at the Station. We got there really early, around 4 hours before flight. The check in area was empty, but very cold. Once you've checked in, you have to carry your bags a couple of metres to baggage check-in, were they are taken off you.

On a side note, don't know if its because we were so early, but we got a free upgrade to upstairs on the 747, the front section of upstairs, where the seats were massive.
