Hi UKDEB,
Just wondered if you've found your £ sign?? If your keyboard is set up to the US standard, you need to press Alt+£.
Hope it works for you!
Tracy
Thanks, Tracey - let's give it a go. £. Yeay! Thanks for that. But why is my keyboard suddenly set up to the US standard? It's never happened before. How do I change that?

Not 100% sure on this Deb , but if like mine you are on Windows XP you may have an icon on the bottom of you tool bar called EN...it could be you are set to 'United States' , if you double click the EN and change to 'United Kingdom' then the £ sign would start working again.

I have just changed mine to US and when I type the £ in a # appears instead.....so it could be that maybe?

Totally agree with the above post. Possibly on the same flight as mentioned above. Useless reps kept us hanging around all day. No thought or provision was made for the famlies with young children.

We were lucky we got overnighted in the Gatwick Hilton. Some poor souls didnt get a bed, and had to make do with an armchair in a room.

By the time we got a room and a bed, we only had a few hours sleep, before having to get back to check in the following morning. The plane was an hour late boarding, and one of the cabin crew had to make an annoucement to calm people down on the plane. As a lot of people did not get their SF or SP seats.

All TCD said was that we would have to claim for the delay off our insurance. They do not know the meaning of the word customer care. There was one lady on our flight who was suffering badly at Gatwick. She could not stand up for much longer, and I found a wheelchair for her. Its things like that that reps should pick up on.

I think that the flight was 5A120 it was a horrible Air Atlanta 747-200 which had seen better days. Have booked Virgin for next year dont care if they are dearer, I am paying for a better and reliable service!

Mmm, as I've said before, I'm certain that almost everyone has a horror story to tell about a travel company they've travelled with, hotel etc whilst others have had fantastic experiences :sad2:

I could now go on to tell you about an almost identical experience we had, with Virgin, sleeping on the floor of the MCO hotel lounge (young children, the lot) and flying into Manchester on a dilapidated Air Atlanta plane where they showed 15 rated films on a central screen, after a 36 hour delay where the reps had no idea what was happening...........

To give them their due the reps did help with what they could and we've flown with Virgin since and had a great time but, I guess, no one is infallible :)

Most people probably can tell horror stories about other airlines but there again this company appears to give more cause for complaints than any other and they do it more often. Not bad for a firm using only 3 or 4 aircraft. Big problem they have is that when they mess up they do it big time and upset 500 people on that flight plus countless others who are affected by the knock on effects. They then do little or nothing to help or inform the passengers.
Interesting to see on the BBC last night the Holiday Hit Squad programme which finally got around to commenting about delays. Not surprising that Excel who do the flights for TCD were singled out as the airline producing most letters of complaint. So it is in fact the volume of complaints not the fact that it happens occasionally to other airlines that brings this company to attention.

How many on this board use TCD. I have used them many times and had great trips.
Votes for and against!
Gosh - this is the first tme I've read positive things about this company!!
Ive never used them,so cant comment.
I always get cheap flights and only flew Virgin this year as Easter sale (it was great!!).I always feel Florida is the important bit,and am never too bothered as long as I arrive there safely.
Always nice to save money and have more spendo!!!

I have travelled with TCD and always arrived on time and never lost a day of my holiday. (I've also travelled using a variety of different operaters as well and don't have a particular favourite).

One doesn't always follow the other-how many TCD flights would be delayed for a period of over 24 hours each year?? If it happened that regularly, I don't think people would repeat book with them.

Then you are lucky wheezie a lot of people had their holidays ruined last September.

I'm quite concerned now, as we are travelling in a months time with TCD for the first time. Will see how we go, but won't be re- booking if we have any problems. We did once have a 4 hour delay this end, but can't remember who with, so I suppose you can always get problems with any carrier.

I'm just keeping our fingers crossed, we don't encounter too many problems, as we're taking our DD's boyfriend who's never been before! Wouldn't want him to have a bad experience.
Fingers crossed.........

got to change my tune about tcd (even though we are flying with them this september)

my sister just came back from a nightmare holiday with them, falling apart plane, dirty villa etc **** roach infestation....

We are going tcd with family this year. But have cancelled next years trip with them, due to total worry about what storys we have now heard, and re booked with virgin

We have just got back from are first trip to Florida (Friday 16th) and I can say we will be using TCD again. We were on time going but had a 2 hour delay coming back but some how the pilot got us home in just under 7 hours so we arrived at the same time we were told when we booked, cant ask for anymore than that. Also we booked a 3 bedroom villa but when we arriveed it was a 5 bedroom villa, :cool1: :cheer2:. We all had a great time and will be going back when its a bit cooler.
