How many on this board use TCD. I have used them many times and had great trips.
Votes for and against!

definatly for saved me a packet last year this year and next year!!

Thanks for this thread!!
Haven't travelled with TCD yet (am going with them in July) - but you're all putting my mind at ease! We have travelled with AA, BA, Continental, MY Travel, and many others, and even though we have the odd 'hiccup' now and again, they all get you from A to B!
I'd rather get the best deal on a flight and have more to spend when we get there!
Our trip this summer with TCD, was about £3,000 cheaper than the Virgin version! I'd rather spend that on golf, meals out etc...and shopping......
So, here's to TCD!! Hopefully, I'll be giving it a great big thumbs up when we return!!

used them 3 times already and just booked again for sept 2007 cant wait those premier seats are already calling me

We`ve booked online with them for Aug. I was impressed, the price quoted was what we are paying - no last minute extra`s such as taxes and fuel supplements. Everything was straight forward including an email confirming all your details immediately.
We usually fly indirectly but I`m sick of that!
So thumbs up from us :teeth:

used virgin once and used tcd once. couldnt fault tcd. i was worried as i had heard alot of bad things about them on these boards. everything was great. v happy :) will use again.

Travel city direct are fantastic, they have saved us a hell of alot of money and i have to say that the customer service, flights etc are 100% better than virgin. We have just booked with TCD for june 07 and cant wait, i really cant fault them.
Oh and also i strongly recommend the freetime check in, its a bargain at a fiver and so much easier!!! x

Glad everyone else has had a good experience with them. We went with them a few years back, before we started DIY trips. The booked 3 bed villa with pool turned out to be a 3 bed apartment on the 3rd floor, great with a 10 month old and 16 month old! Oh, obviously no lifts!!! Eventually it was sorted out, but ended up in a different estate (the apartment was at least in the correct estate!) which was much further away than we planned on being.
Oh, and before we left, despite stating that we wanted a minivan during the original booking conversation, when we got the paper work through, the code along side the car rental bit of it, suggested it was just a full size vehicle. When I rang and spoke to the same operator, he argued the toss that we'd specifically asked for a full size car only!!!!!! Which we of course hadn't!!! His mistake, but clearly he wasn't willing to admit it!
Vowed NEVER EVER to book with them again. This year, it being a few years later afterall, I gave them a ring to see if they could come anywhere near to the price we'd got from Globespan. The operator I spoke to couldn't get with £1000 of the price we'd got.
It's probably ok to use if you only want to go for 2 weeks, but longer than that, they have to buy flights in (this is what the woman told me the other day) and then the prices are greater.
I personally, unless it was substantially cheaper than other quotes, wouldn't risk flying, driving or staying with them. But glad there seem to be a few happy customers out there!;)

I am glad that there are so many good experiences.

I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole, started off badly with tickets not arriving on time, reps at LBV could not, or would not help, was promised refund on return still trying to get that from last Sept. 24 hour delay and NO company rep available at any point, flight back was a nighmare when it did happen. Try to sort it out with the company and cuotmer relations refuse to talk to any compliants on the phone, letters only answered whenthey are sent recorded delivery.

I do hpope the more potive reviews means that they are getting better, but I found if you shop around you can often get better deals than TCD anyway.

For

They were the cheapest direct flights we could get when we went last time & no problems

I don't rate them at all I'm afraid - extremely disappointed with the service they provided when I used them, sure they were cheaper but then 'you get what you pay for', and my price included shoddy service, being bumped down from my upgrade, etc, etc. I won't be making that mistake again, but in fairness, my mate travelled with them last year without problems, but I won't be trusting my precious holiday time with them again.

Just booked with them again for April 28th 2007. Never had any problems.

The horror stories posted here in the past have meant that I've never even considered TCD. Out of interest, I've just priced up our October trip online and it's coming in at £800 more than we're paying with Virgin.

We are travelling with them for the first time this August and I am now getting rather worried about being dumped out of upgrade, we booked sunshine first because DD and myself have problems with our legs ( not only that they are long, as are DH and DS but DD has had 3 DVT and is on warfarin and can't bear his legs cramped etc, and I have had problems with mine since having shingles on my legs a couple of years ago, I have to wear a surgical support type stockin, you can only get it on using a silk sock they provide it is that tight, and again can't bear anything touching them) so the larger seat etc are perfect for us. if we are bumped because of a plane change are we put into economy or the nearest upgrade! we could not bear having our knees under our chins for such a long flight I can't imagine the pain the pair of us would be in by the time we arrive as well as DH & DS both 6' 4" and DS can't have an exit seat as he is only 14 although its just as uncomfortable for him as an adult!!! This is really worrying me now - what are the chances of it happening!!! :sad2:
