Trash & Towel Service

I just returned from 7 nights at SSR. I knew that we would have T & T service on the 4th day of our stay, but I didn't realize that this literally meant all they would do is bring some towels & take the trash. I thought maybe they would make the beds or something. Has this been everyone else's experience, or do some of the mousekeepers do a little more than that? :confused3 Not complaining....just wondering.

Were kind of new to this, only 2 trips to DW but on our last trip we stayed at both AKV and SSR. At AKV every three days housekeeping came in and cleaned, changed the linens on the beds, brought new toiletries and were more than happy to bring extra towels and blankets. SSR was a completely different story, there were not even linens on or for the hide away bed and when I commented on it at the front desk (along with a couple of other issues we had the first night we checked in) I was told "it happend last night, what do you want me to do about it?". Needless to say I was floored that was the response I got and was less then happy again when after getting soaked in the rain and coming back to wet towels in the room (nothing dries fast in FL :o)) I was going to be charged for an extra set of dry towels. SSR is our home resort and I was just wondering if anyone else has had this kind of experience or did we just have an isolated experience. Thanks so much for the input :o)

Your experience at AKV is not the norm when staying at DVC villa on points; sounds like just some extra pixiedust: from mousekeeping while you were there. DVC stays do not provide daily housekeeping services (as is typical of staying at timeshare).

Trash & Towel Service doesn't include changing bed linens or any cleaning beyond emptying trash and clean towels, soaps/shampoo paper products & coffee items are replaced as well; it is provided on Day 4 (counting check-in day as Day 1) on stays of 7 nights or less. On stays of 8 nights or more full villa cleaning (which does include changing linens) is done on Day 4 and Trash & Towel Service will be Day 8. Extra sets of towels requested are charged iirc at $6 per set.

Additional full cleaning of villa can be paid for, mousekeeping needs to be notified day before :
$30 for studio, $45 1 bedroom, $60 2 bedroom, $75 grand villa. Additional Trash & Towel Service can be paid for as well.

Your villa should have had linens available for pull-out; mousekeeping can be called for these items if they're missing ( and extra blankets, pillows if needed ). The CM at SSR could have phrased his reply concerning pull-out sofa linens in a more considerate/understanding way; you can write to Member Satisfaction at DVC to let them know your dissatisfaction and with any other concerns or questions.

:goodvibes

Most of the time we have found the sleeper sofa to have the sheets already on the bed. But if they are not, they are usually in the closet in a plastic bag or in the coffee table (if it is a chest type) or even in the bed in a pocket. But if they are missing completely, call housekeeping.

What you both need to understand is that DVC is a timeshare and not a hotel. Everything you get in your villa, you pay for with your dues.

If they are on the bed, are you confident they have been changed and not left over from previous occcupants?

I figure if I cannot tell if they are clean or not, then it doesn't matter, LOL.

FWIW, if we use the sofa bed, we always strip it before we leave. I bet most others do the same.

Will we receive the 4th day Trash & Towel service for our RCI weeks exchange at BCV? We will be there for a full week.

No different from the bed linens. You can tell if they have been used.

We do exactly the same.

You will get your towels replaced and trash removed on day 4 with a seven night stay.
