How important is T&T service to you?

We generally put the Do Not Disturb sign up. But when we do, housekeeping leaves us a voice mail reminding us of our T&T service if we want it. And if we do not have the sign up later they pop in and provide the service. That is all very nice, but it makes no sense to us to get T&T on day four when we are only there for 5 nights.

By day four, all of our trash cans were full, so having them emptied along with getting clean linens was needed. Please keep it as it is. JMO

It was nice getting fresh supplies, but I don't see an absolute need in units with a laundry. It's those studios that worry me. I tend to wash my linens after my bath/shower. After a day or two those wet washcloths can get pretty nasty.

Hi,

If you are only going to be there for 5 nights, have you thought about changing your T&T to a different day during your stay? We were there for only 5 nights, so we requested to move our T&T to day 3 of our stay, that way it was right in the middle to get new towels.

We empty our own trash daily anyway. I would prefer a station where I could go and trade towels at my convenience. I actually think that if we eliminated T&T we could afford to allocate funds to have a full time person at the towel "station," and allow folks to trade towels whenever or as frequently as needed.

You can do this?? I thought it was set in stone to the every 4 days.

I think Trash and Towel works well! I can see where if you were only staying 5 nights, it might seem unecessary, but for those of us who stay 10 nights or more, it works very well. I usually need a new kitchen spong by then, and it's nice not to have to wash the towels.

I'm not sure it would save a lot on overall dues. The housekeepers would have to be employed anyway to service rooms for arriving guests.

We usually stay 10 nights 2x per year, getting trash & towel once each visit. So $20 if we were to pay cash. Given I have 345 points, that amounts to about 6¢ per point...but the resort would need to pay a fee for towel laundering anyway, and I doubt they pay "by the towel", more likely they pay on estimated usage. Given that, and the employment of maid, I doubt we'd actually save 6¢ per point on dues if they eliminated the T&T service.

Truthfully, in a 1 bedroom or larger unit, it really doesn't make a lot of difference whether we have the service or not, since we have a washer & dryer. But for a studio, it really is pretty much a necessity.

We usually end up taking out our own trash every couple of days or so, so the trash part doesn't matter to me.

We have been staying for 7 day stays the past few years, so fresh towels at day 4 is important to us. I would prefer however that we were given the option of collecting all the towels ourselves and exchanging them for a bag of new ones. I know sometimes they kind of do this when someone is in the shower when they come, but if we could do it this way (either at the door, or at a station somewhere) it would make it easier for us.

I really don't like someone coming into our "home" to change towels. (I have a thing about personal space and I don't like people coming into my real home either if I don't know them) When I stay in a regular hotel, I always have to "clean up" before the maid comes.

I wouldn't mind not having it in a 1 bedroom but I want it in a studio. I don't want to be in the laundry room washing towels.

If they would give you the option of making the trade out yourself by setting the basket outside the door so we could bring it in and put the new towels in place and then set it outside with the used ones I would like that. We take out trash out daily if there is enough of it to do so and especially when traveling with diaper age children so don't care if anyone comes in to do that anyway. This past trip the housekeeper showed up at the door with the towels and a roll of toilet paper in her arms at 8 am and handed them to me when I explained that part of our group was still sleeping. She asked that I sign her paper- looked like a list of the rooms she was responsible for- and left. They never did come and get the dirty ones so we had two sets the last two days since she was also a day early. Another one showed up the next day ( the 4th day) and tried to give me more - same request to sign her paper
when I said we didn't need them. There were none of the usual baskets in sight those mornings so don't know if they were short handed or trying something different or what.

I voted "other" because there was no option that described my thoughts on this.
Yes, it IS important to me, but an "opt out" option is a great idea for those who don't want it. In fact, I'm sure if you don't want it you can call housekeeping and tell them not to come, so in a sense this option already exists. :smokin:

We too only usually stay 5 days and I wash towels before T&T day anyway even in a studio. When we are in a larger unit, the trash has to be taken out after we cook and I just throw towels in the washer before we head out for the day. ;)

We love T & T. With 4 kids, I do more laundry than I would like on vacation. The t & t gives me a break on towels anyway.

I like that idea. Nice compromise to accommodate different needs.

That is a good suggestion if we wanted or needed the service. But we take out the trash ourselves. Just drop it off in the trash room on the way out in the morning if necessary. We do not change towels daily at home and do not need to on the road either. Just my opinion, but I think it helps conserve water and power use.

I like trash and towel service. It is nice to have clean towels by then.

I think an opt-out would be good if you didn't want it but I like how it is currently set up.
