Trash Compactor question

A required item on a child's camp list is "trash compactor bags." I looked at the store in the garbage bag section and none were labeled as that. Will the box say "compactor bags" or do you buy a specific box of regular trash bags and if so, which size?

I'm not sure that you'll find them in a regular store. We purchase ours at Sears or Home Depot or a few select hardware stores. They specifically say "Trash Compactor Bags" and they're available in paper or plastic.

I would guess the beauty of them for camping lies in the fact that they retain their form??? They're like a giant paper bags

I believe that these are square in shape, and do hold their shape

If we can't get down to Sears, we can find them at Home Depot. We also found some at our local grocery store.

We buy our trash compactor bags at Costco. They are plastic - but they're very sturdy and don't break as easily as the big black garbage bags.
