Has anyone exchanged to the Trapp Family Lodge in Vermont? If so, was the room in the main lodge or was it a villa or guest house? We are thinking about exchanging and the rooms look quite a bit different in the villa versus the guest house.

I would recommend checking with Member Services as there may be point differences for the various accommodations. You may have already seen this, but HERE is the link to the website for the Trapp Family Lodge.

I exchanged into Trapp this past July using my Marriott's week via II. Since DVC is using II, I assume it would be the same. It is in the guest houses. No A/C, no washer/dryer and they are all 2-br units. The area is full of outdoor activities or you can choose to do nothing. One of my DDs was sick while there, so we did not do much at all. The unit's living room is large, but not fancy, just adequate (we even had a renovated unit), not sure what the un-renovated unit would look like.

The villas are for fractional shares. That is completely different. The lodge is for hotel guests. Most of the activities were not well attended and quite a few were cancelled due to lack of people signing up. The campfire was OK, not as fun as Disney HHs.

A question for you, lat: I've never stayed in the Guest Houses but if I remember correctly, they are right next to the fitness center and indoor pool. Did you have to pay extra to use those facilities or were they included?

ETA: Just checked out the link Carol posted and it looks like the use of the fitness center is included:

Rentals include use of our new Fitness Center and Nordic Ski Trails.

I haven't stayed there, but I have visted and eaten there a few years back, b/c I live here in VT. I'd say my impression is that if you are not skiing, you might want to get down to Stowe and Burlington for more activities. There's the Ben and Jerry's tour, Lake Champlain, etc. I'd not want to stay at the resort the whole time, when there's a lot of beautiful scenic drives, crafters, biking and hiking trails, right in the area.
Just representing my home state, it's lovely, come see us!
