We are planning on going to Disney World at the end of January and we will have two ECVs in our party. These will be from an offsite rental company, most likely Apple and we will be getting the larger scooters that do not break down, so renting a car is most likely out since there will be four of us and a service dog.

Unless someone knows something I don't about either the larger scooters, such as being able to break them down or a good rental vehicle for such a situation, I am wondering what the best option for transportation from Disney World (most likely Beach Club Villas if that matters) to Universal Studios would be?

There are some taxi vans that can accommodate one complete ECV, complete with ramps. There aren't a lot, so you might want to contact Mears well in advance to arrange the vehicles. Alternatively, they (I think) always use coach buses when they don't use vans. The ECVs should fit in the luggage compartment.

IDeally, someone in your party should be able to assist the driver get them in and out. I checked a few on Amazon, and the shipping weights ranged from 87 to 260(!) pounds. Now, they did have a couple of heavy duty travel scooters. Maybe call the various companies and ask if they have, or may be planning to get, any of these?

I would ask your rental company. We ran into that one year and they said to just let them know when to pick it up from our first hotel and which hotel to redeliver it to. I can’t remember if that was Walker or not but that’s who I normally rent from.

But we aren't changing hotels, we are going to stay at Beach Club the whole time and we will need the ECVs at Universal.

Call Mears and ask about their accessible options - they may be your best bet. There are some car services in Orlando that have larger vehicles (like 15 passenger vans) but those might not be practical.

Mears runs the Disney Magical Express for WDW, so I imagine they have lots of options! :)
