Hi, I'm new to the board and have been doing a lot of research here. We have reservations to stay in one of the cabins from Saturday June 7th to Saturday June 14th. It will be my sister, her husband and my nine year old neice. This is only my second time to Disney with the other time about 15 years ago and stayed off property. I am so excited about our trip and I am was elected head of the planning part so here I am. I was able to get a ADR for Cinderella's Royal Table for breakfast on Sunday June 8 for 8:20. The park opens at 9:00 that day and I know there is a boat we can take from FW. My question is what time do the boats start running and will we have time to make it to our ADR? Or do we need to find another way to get there? We are driving from N.C. so we will have our car and we also have reservations for a golf cart. Also is the 8:20 ADR a good time from our breakfast? Thanks for any advice! FW sounds like a great place for us! I can't wait for my neice to see Disney World.

I remember we had ADRs at Animal Kingdom well before opening and we were there in plenty of time. Boats or busses; at least one or the other should work at MK.

I'm sure someone here will know but if not, I'll let you know in a month.:cool1:

I believe the boats start running 45 minutes before park opening. If that is the case, you'd never make it. What I would suggest is talking to the concierge at FtW, telling them the details and seeing if they can work something out~WDW wants you to make your ressie time and if you get the right CM they may work transportation out for you! If all else fails, you do have your car.
That ressie is perfect though! You can have your character breakfast and still be ready to go by rope drop!!!!:thumbsup2

Only prob~no MK busses from the fort :confused3

Grab a boat to the CR. They start running very early. Around 6:30-7am. From the CR jump on the monorail and ride it around till it stops at the Mk. Some people also walk from the CR to MK.:thumbsup2

Okay, I must weigh in since my experience will match yours very closely. We had ADR for The Crystal Palace this past Oct. and this is what we did. Our resv. time was for 8:10. We took the boat to the Contemporary (no boats ran early enough to MK) and then made a huge mistake! The boat captain said it was a short walk to the MK............LIE. Loved him but he LIED!!!!!!!! Either ask the captain about the next boat running to MK from CR OR take the monorail. It was not a 10 minute walk. More like 20 and we were practically sprinting! TAKE THE MONORAIL!!!!!!

It's never taken me more than 15 minutes walking from the Contemporary to the MK.

From the boat dock, walk straight towards the building and enter the downstairs doors. Keep cutting towards your left as you are going through the building and you will pass the check-in lobby. Keeping going down past the check-in desk and you'll come out a double door by the bus stops. Go past the bus stop and you'll come to a sidewalk that goes to the MK.

If you take the monorail, you'll have almost as much walking as you have to make your way up to the 4th floor, then take the escalator to the monorail level, wait on the monorail, ride it ALL THE WAY AROUND stopping at TTC, Polynesian, Grand Floridian, then Magic Kingdom, then the walk down the ramp and around through security, then into the MK.

But yes, to answer the poster's original question, there are small launches that go to the Contemporary (may stop at Wilderness Lodge first), that start at 6:45 am.

If you need wheelchair transportation that early, there is a way, but it is roundabout. There is a bus that goes between Ft. Wilderness Settlement and Wilderness Lodge. I believe it starts at 6:40am. Then you transfer to a bus to MK. That starts at 7am.

Actually there is no boat from CR to MK so walking or the monorail are your only choice. The walk is about 10 min from the front of CR unfortunaly the boat dock is at the back of the hotel and will add time, either way walking or monorail is about 20min from the dock.

The boat from FW to CR(starts at 6:45am) and walking or monorail from there is really the best way to get to an early ADR at MK

I wasn't aware if there was a boat to MK from CR, I've never stayed there. I said to ask the captain, but now we know. It wasn't an easy 20 minute walk from the boat to the MK especially with a baby, lazy 8 and 13 year-olds and 6 out of shape adults. Take the monorail! Just putting in my 2 cents whatever they are worth!

Thanks to everyone for their advice! It gives me some ideas to think about. I was really excited to get the 8:20 time so that we can get into the park early. Thanks again.

Notify the front desk when you arrive that you will need transportation to MK for breakfast before park opening. They will provide transportation that will pick you up at your site and take you to the front of MK. We've done it twice. Don't wait until the morning of to call them. Let them know at least a day in advance.
