Transportation to/from Boardwalk

Hi,
The cast: me, wife and 2 kids.
We are going to be staying at ASMovies in late June and we were thinking about going to the boardwalk on a Saturday night after AK closes early. I figured we would just take a boardwalk resort bus from AK (going to beaches and cream for dinner so assume OK to use Beach or Yacht club bus) but what is best way to return from boardwalk back to the ASMovies ?
Taxi ? (any idea how much ?)
Any better ideas ?

A side question. I notice some of the parks open late in late June/early July and have extra late hours. For example, park closes at 11 pm. Does that mean it is really open to 2 am on the extra evening hours day ? (and I complained I never got to see the park that much in the dark)

If I were you, I would take a bus to MGM or Epcot (depending on the time, buses might not be running their) If its too late and buses arent running their, take a bus to Downtown Disney, and transfer to the AS bus .

Yes, EMH is 3 hours after scheduled closing. During President's Week, MK closed at midnight and EMH was until 3:00am!

There are no buses from the Epcot resorts (Boardwalk, Swan/Dolphin, Yacht/Beach clubs) to either the Studios or Epcot. There are Friendship boats that run from the International Gateway of Epcot to the Studios stopping at these resorts. You can also walk from there to Epcot....maybe 10 minutes and to the Studios....maybe 20 minutes.
If you want to eat at Beaches N Cream you are correct about taking a bus from the AK to any resort in this area. The same bus ususally services the Boardwalk and Beach/Yacht clubs, sometimes also the Swan/Dolphin.
To return to your resort find out if any park has evening EMH. If it's either Epcot or the Studios you can boat or walk there and take your resort bus. If it's MK or AK that night you can bus there and switch to your resort bus. The other option mentioned is to take a bus to DTD and switch there, but the service to/from DTD is not as good as to/from the theme parks. Your final option is to take a taxi. I would guess it would cost something like $10-$15 tops from any of the Epcot resorts. Just walk through the resort of your choice and go out the main entrance. A CM at the podium will direct you to a waiting taxi. They are normally waiting outside all Disney resorts but if one is not available the CM will call and get you one right away.

I see that you say you can just return to Epcot from the Boardwalk on evening EMH. I thought only FW was open for EMH, so do they still let you in the International Gateway, which is where you return to from the Boardwalk?

The International Gateway is always open the same hours as the front gate. There are 2 attractions in the WS open for EMH - Mexico & Norway.

Can someone tell me where the International Gateway is? Do I have to use a park ticket for Epcot to utilize this?

The International Gateway is between England and France in Epcot's World Showcase. Using it does indeed require admission to Epcot.

If you are at Boardwalk I think walking or taking the boat to MGM would be the easiest (other than taking a taxi). If you went to the Epcot buses you would have to walk all the way through the park which at the end of a long day can be overwhelming.
