transportation for VB??

We are in the early stages of planning a trip to VB. So far...dd and I will spend 4 nights in WDW. Then dh will join us. We are thinking of renting a car, on-site, most likely at Swan/Dolphin. Then drive to VB. Question....would we be able to return the rental car there or at Melbourne Airport? We would fly into MCO but fly out of MLB.

Most car rental companies will not charge for pickup at one location in Florida and drop offs anywhere in Florida. National/Alamo is at the Dolphin and Car Care Center at WDW and also at MLB.

I would drive back to MCO from Vero, it will be less than a hour additional, and you will have a much better flight selection, and will most likely save enough on airfare to pay for the car.

I would also probabily vote for flying out of MCO as well... Depending on where you are flying in from, you should have a much larger selection of flights going into Orlando which should cut down your cost.

The drive from VB to MLB is about 35 mins or so vs. the drive to MCO which is about 90 mins.

This way you could also pick up the car from the National Rental car agency at the Swan & Dolphin, and then drop it off when you return to the airport...

We have used both National and Dollar out of MCO and would recommend both...

Do yourself a favor though and keep an eye out on the internet for specials on the rental car sites... They can save you a good chuck of change in the long run...
