Transportation btw Animal Kingdom and Contemporary

I'm planning on staying at Animal Kingdom and have to attend a conference at Contemporary Resort. Can anyone tell me how I can get between them by bus and how long it takes. I have to be there at a specific time in the morning but the times it ends varies each day. Does anyone know where I can view a bus schedule as well? I don't want to pay for taxis, but can anyone tell me how much you think one would be for this trip one way?

1. There is no bus service between resorts. To go resort to resort using Disney transportation, you will need to take a bus from the originating resort to a park or to Downtown Disney, then take a bus from there to the destination resort. In this case, you'll want to take the bus from Animal Kingdom Lodge to Magic Kingdom. From there it's a short walk to the Contemporary, or you can take the resort monorail from the MK platform and exit at the first stop.

2. There is no bus schedule, per se. Buses run approximately every 20 minutes but not on any set schedule.

3. If you do use Disney transportation, allow anywhere from 60-90 minutes travel time.

4. A cab will take you about 15 minutes and will be about $30 with tip according to this fare calculator.

Staying at AKL your best option is taking the Magic Kingdom bus and then walk it is only about a 10 minute walk and I belive the buses start running around 630 am to serve people who have breakfast reservations at the MK before the Park opens. At the end of the day just reverse and walk over to the bus stop at the MK and take the AKL bus

Just a thought, but since this is a business trip, would your cab fare be reimbursed? If so, take a cab from AK directly to CR.

If not, PP is right. Take bus from AK to MK, then walk to CR.

I'm not being nitpicky, but rather I'm trying to help you avoid problems while at WDW. The resort you're staying at is Animal Kingdom Lodge, which is near the theme park called Animal Kingdom. This is an important distinction, because if you're down there and you ask someone how to get to Animal Kingdom, they will direct you on how to get to the park, not how to get back to your hotel. They are separate entities that aren't right next to each other and you can't walk from one to another.

I agree with all of the above advice to get a bus from AKL to Magic Kingdom. From there, you have the option of walking to Contemporary, or taking the monorail. My strong advice is simply to walk it. The reason I say this is that the walk from the MK bus area to Contemporary is slightly shorter than the walk from the MK bus area to the MK monorail station (I've checked it out on a runners website that uses satellite photos).

I also agree about taking the bus to the Magic Kingdom and using the walkway to the Contemporary.

Since you are at the AKV, you can go to the AK PARK and then take the direct Contemporary bus. The MK from AKV will work also.
