Transportation after park closing?

I will be at WDW in October. We usually go in the summer months (June, July, or August) when the parks are open later, so I've never really run into this before. We're having a late dinner one night at Whispering Canyon after the parks regular closing time. This is an MNSSHP night, so will the boat be running from WL to MK, where we could then take a bus to our resort? Thanks!

You will find that all park to resort transportation will continue, at least, until an hour after the park closes for the night. So, if the park closes at 8:00, buses/boats/monorails will run until at least 9:00. If there is a 'party' that night, buses/boats/monorails will run at least an hour after the party ends. Transportation will continue until everyone is gone.

I figured the busses would run from MK, but I wasn't sure about the boats!

Transportation from the Lodge should be no problem. However, if things get iffy, you can always take a bus to Downtown Disney (DDD), then switch to your resort bus from there.

It's kinda a long haul, but it is one sure-fire way to get back to your resort. This also applies if you get stranded after hours at any other resort as well since the DDD busses run till 2am.

On MNSSHP nights, the boats between MK and WL will run until MNSSHP ends. Once you boat back to MK, you can take the bus back to the resort. MK itself, and any transportation to/from it, should be running until at least midnight on MNSSHP nights, since MNSSHP lasts till midnight.
