Transport to/from USC/UCLA and Disneyland Anaheim Area

I will be attending the DL Half weekend and would also like to attend some games at USC/UCLA to check out their basketball arenas. Any suggestions on the best way to get to and from the arenas from the Disneyland/Anaheim area hotels. Thank you in advance!

I just did this in September from USC…. you should 100% use the light rail. You can get on a bus to the Anaheim Regional Transit Center, take the train up to the station just past union station, and then transfer to whichever way you want to go.

It was pretty easy, inexpensive, and a time saver. The cost of an UBER was $$$$$$$$ and you are sitting in traffic

Not sure if you're already gone or are still planning.

Galen Center is pretty easy with public transportation, although the neighborhood can be sketchy at night. It's right on Metro light rail. UCLA is a bit more difficult but is near several bus zones.

From Anaheim you can take the Metro 460 bus, although it's a lot easier if you have the TAP fare card. You might be able to buy it on the bus (costs $2 for the card). From that point you can add value to it and take advantage of their daily/weekly fare caps, which are $5/$18.

When I was getting around, I mostly used Apple Maps on an iPhone which had real time updates as to when the bus would arrive at the stop. I could time when I should go to the stop so I didn't need to wait too long. It's not available for all bus routes though and doesn't really work for the subway. If the subways is off its schedule it won't really give real time updates on location.
