I sent an email to Loews 1st. As I mentioned earlier on this board, we've never gotten credit for a stay using the FLO rate. Also, we've never gotten any of the perks. This is at all 3 resorts. I did point out that the FLO & APH rates aren't that much cheaper than the AAA rate, among other things. It took 4 days to get a reply (which is reasonable), but the reply doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I can't figure out if they're telling me I should book on the website at rack rate, or if they just typed a bunch of words just to get rid of my inquiry. :rolleyes1 Can any of you enlighten me on what you think they're trying to say? :p Here's the reply:

We sincerely apologize for any mis-communication related to the Terms and Conditions of our LoewsFirst Guest Rewards program (http://www.loews-first.com/terms.asp). Unfortunately, you are correct that reservations booked under Florida residents’ rates are not applicable within the LoewsFirst program. If possible, please book your next visit directly through Loews Hotels either by visiting our website at www.loewshotels.com, or by calling 1-800-LOEWS-11, our reservations line for LoewsFirst members only. Also, please be aware that your valued feedback is being passed along to the appropriate representative so that we may consider this in all future discussions.

Please keep in mind that Loews Hotels offers a Best Rate Pledge, whereby you should not find a lower rate for the same room type on a third party website such as Expedia or Hotels.com (excluding the auction sites such as Priceline). If you do find a lower rate for the same room on a third party site, you can contact our hotels and we match the rate that you found and either adjust the rate you book on www.loewshotels.com or make the reservations for you. Full details on the Loews Best Rate Pledge can be found at the following page on our website: http://www.loewshotels.com/aboutus/best_rate_pledge/.

Thank you for choosing LoewsFirst. We do hope to welcome you again soon.

They are saying that in order to take advantage of the Loews First perks, you should book thru Loews,at rack rate, as they will guarantee you the lowest price for their room.

Well, I think they neglected to inform you that you could book a AAA rate on the Loews website and still get your loews first perks. There are certain times of the year that Loews offers their own discounted room rates (specials) and those rates would have the loews first entitlement.

I think they were trying to say that their website will have the lowest rates that can be found. But again, they forgot to tell you that a AAA rate would be OK too.

Were you emailing them to get credit for a FLO, APH rate stay? Or more to bring it to their attention that the rates were similar to a AAA rate? Also one more thing, all their rates vary depending on the time of year and occupancy. Sometimes APH is much lower than AAA and sometimes it isnt much of a difference. It would be hard for them to compare since it does change so often. Usually though a FLO rate is the best. Is the FLO rate not so good lately?

For my upcoming RPR stay I booked at the AAA rate of $183 and received the Platinum upgrade to a King Suite. The AP rate for the same dates is over $200 and did not qualify for the upgrade as it is considered a non-qualifying rate for the purpose of upgrades and stays. :confused3

Whatever! :lmao:

That's the point I was trying to make. The AAA rate is still a discounted rate, but it qualifies for the perks. The others don't. :confused3 From what I can tell, it's useless for Fl. Res. to join Loews 1st.

I suppose I did understand what he was saying. I just thought it was ridiculous that he was suggesting that I book on their site with the rack rate, & thought maybe I misunderstood his intent. We all know there's different codes out there. Maybe, he doesn't. :p

After I had already done this, I joined Loews First. Then I called the reservation line and added the Loews First number to the reservation. Does this mean that I won't get any of the perks of Loews First since I am using the APH rate? :confused3 We got a GREAT deal on the room, so I suppose it will be ok if we don't.

Our first night there is June 2!!!!! :woohoo:
