Well, I seem to have gone full circle - from thinking about renting out my points to being able to go to WDW myself to now being some points short for the ideal room!
I don't know anything about how transfers work though (with me being the one buying the trnasfered points). Does anyone have any experience with this?
Advice greatly appreciated!!
Honestly, I'll be so relieved when this is booked, its all so stressful!!

I needed some points for my stay in August and I was hoping to get them by transfer but it was a nightmare. I contacted dozens of people of the rent/trade board and noone could help me so I ended up renting some. If you want to transfer it can only be current points, they can't be points that the member has banked or borrowed. The problem is that I think there is a limitation on how many times you can transfer points which means that people are looking to do one large transfer rather than transfer just a few points that you may need for the odd night.

Thanks for that - I completely agree with you and when I bought DVC I never thought I'd be going down this route. I followed the ''buy what you need where you want to stay'' rule, but because of various financial issues we had in the last year and my brothers (who we are taking with us) recent redundancy right off the bat I'm in a bank/borrow situation! :scared1:
Luckily, we are all sorted now and I've manged to balance the points I do have without borrowing and and have made the reservation - Sept 2009 at AKV - so I have my very first wonderful DVC break to look forward to in Sept.
(It also means I can stay away from these boards - I seem to be inadvertently getting myself and other people in to trouble! oops :guilty: I'm paranoid now of saying the wrong thing - I'm the type of person who would go in the Big Brother house and mention nominations completley by mistake and then be shocked when I got put in the jail! doh. :upsidedow )
I can't wait until a few years down the road when I the one in the know! ;)
P.S I just want to add that MS were fantastic with us and the lady who we spoke to knew it was our first booking and was patient and clear with us - she even answered the phone with ''welcome home'' I'm sure they do this everytime but it made me smile as its the first time we've heard it! :goodvibes
