Transferring Points Question...when to look for points to be transferred to me

I have a Dec 2006 trip in the making, but now the in-laws are possibly wanting to come along. This means changing my plans from a 1BR to a 2 BR at BCV (that's our home)

Rather than borrow, I'd prefer to have the in-laws rent enough points for transfer so it covers the reservation. I figure we'd need 25 points if they decide to come, which they will decide on firmly before this ressie needs to be made.

My questions:
How soon should I start looking for points to be transferred into my account? Is now too early for me to begin making a reservation in early January?
Also, I'd prefer to have BCV points transferred in just make things easier...opinions on if that will be difficult to achieve?
I just don't want to mess with my 11 month window.

You can look now - just be sure that you specify that the points you want must be good for a December 2006 stay. Then you can have MS put them in your 2006 use year. If you want to make the reservation prior to the opening of the 7 month window, you'll want to find a BCV owner wiling to transfer you the points you need.

Anyway, if you do that, you could bank the transferred points (subject to your banking deadlines) if you have to cancel the reservation made with the transferred points.

Bottom line: You are allowed to transfer points that are not "current" use year.
