Transferring pictures from memory card to itouch?

Is there a way to do this? I have a Belkin media reader that hooked to my old (ancient!) ipod. Unfortunately, that one died and the reader doesn't seem to work with the itouch. (Not the current model that has the camera.) Is there a cord or reader or anything that would let me transfer pictures w/o a computer? (The cards in question would be CF or SD.)

Sorry, I don't think so. As far as I know the only way to get stuff on there is through itunes. That was one of the complaints when iphones and itouches came out.

For an earlier version of the ipod, Apple made a usb ipod adapter. I am not certain if it will work with the itouch or not. Not sure if you can even find one or not.

I have one of those USB adaptors for the old photo iPods. I wishfully attempted connecting it to an iPhone 3gs, but all my wishing did not help. It does not work.

I remember an accessory memory card reader for older model iPods, but not iTouches. Are you interested in such a device for temporarily backing up your images? If backup is not a concern, then it's recommended that you go through iTunes to load images to your iPod. iTunes resizes the images as they're transferred to your iPod, so they occupy less space on the device.

Thanks all! Seems wierd there used to be one, but not any more.

I have the one for the older ipods (that we got essentially to use the ipod as a storage drive) but won't work on the itouch.

Purpose for the new one would be to send a few pics home while I'm traveling abroad. I can send them wifi off my ipod, but trying to figure how to get them onto the ipod as I won't have a computer.

An alternative might be an eye-fi card to send your pics directly from your camera.
