Hi everyone!
I was hoping someone could help me out. We currently have a contract that we share with my brother at VWL that is paid in full. We want to just transfer the contract so that it is in my name only. I am assuming we just need to have him transfer his interest through a quit claim deed, but since it a timeshare I wasn't sure. Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks!
Michelle

I would contact Member Administration and ask them since it's their policy that you are dealing with.

contact MS by email and request the transfer packet be sent to you by email. They will forward to member admin. In that will be a transfer form that you'll complete and send in to DVC. They will then send you a ROFR waiver. Once you have that, you'll need a completed deed (go ahead and get it ready) and to have both recorded (easy for Orange County). Once recorded, you'll have another transfer form that came with the ROFR. Complete that and send it along with a copy of the recorded deed to DVC (which you will be able to print faster from the internet) and you'll be set. They will not cancel existing reservation in this situation but to be safe, I'd remind them if applicable.

I'm in the process of doing this myself, adding my son to the deed. Got the necessary forms and ROFR from Disney, now submitting a quit claim deed to Orange County to be recorded. Just follow Dean's instructions (I am).

So, DVC is sending me the transfer packet, but indicated there is a $475 fee. Is this something you are paying, or are you preparing and recording the deed yourself? If it is fairly easy, I would hate to pay the $475.

That's for closing itself if you want them to do it. For a simple transfer with no money, you don't need that and even if you wanted someone else to do it, you can get it done for less.

Dean and Disneypapa,

So, I just received the paperwork from DVC and I am sort of confused. Ok, just confused. The request to transfer form is included, but it already includes the "Vista Title Agency" as the agent. There is also an invoice for $475 for that company. It doesn't say anything about ROFR, just send us the money and we'll take care of it. The package came from DVC, but all the correspondence is from Disney's title company. Sort of lost on how to get around this. Any more advice would be so appreciated!

Thanks,Michelle

You may have to call them but I'm guessing they'll say to mark out the transfer agent since you don't need that, at least for WDW properties.
