Transfering Points question

Hi. I originally posted this on the rent/trade board, but that wasn't right. . .sorry! At any rate. . ..

I own at BCV with an Oct UY. I need some additional points for a trip Nov '06.

I'd like to try to get this taken care of before the 7-month window.

How does this work? If someone transfers points into my account, does it matter what Their Home resort is or are they BCV once they are in my account?

In other words, do I just need to worry about them fitting into the UY, or do I need to worry about Home resort too to do the 11-month window?

If you are going to use transferred points to make a reservation before the 7 month window opens, the transferred points need to be from the resort at which you want to make the reservation.

?...uum, recently transferred points from another resort (BCV) into one of my contracts (BWV) for a reservation I need to book 1/07. The CM's I spoke to indicated that the points had to have the same UY in order to utilize my 11 month window for booking.

CM's stated that the resort, itself, didn't matter - unless we were looking for home field advantage @ those resorts, i.e. if I wanted to book @ OKW, I'd need OKW points. They did caution that it could take extra time to do a manual pull to verify where the points originated from in that scenario & could delay the reservation.

I realize that this is contrary to what has been posted...but, thought I'd relay it.

I've never heard that before. AFAIK, the only requirment is that the points being transferred in be valid for the reservation the member wants to make. If a CM told me that (assuming I was transferring points in with a different use year but my same home resort), I'd be asking for a supervisor - since both my points and the transferred points were valid to make the reservation.

This is what I was trying to say in my post. You need to find points from the same resort to transfer in if you want to book 11 months in advance. Only points from the resort are allowed to make reservations prior to the 7 month window.
