If I transfer points into another members's account who's UY do they follow? thanks

Believe the recipient actually gets to choose.

Technically, the transferred points are supposed to retain thier original use year. However, I don't believe the DVC computer is set up to do this. So MS will put them in the use year the recipient specifies (within reason, LOL).

If the recipient has specific vacation dates in mind for the transferred points, it's important to make sure the vacation and transferred points are in the same use year. MS can help with that if need be.

I just had points transferred into my account and MS told me they would have my use year. I specifically pointed out the points being transferred were another use year and 2 different CMs told me they would have my use year not the UY transferred from. My home resort is BCV and transferred points were too. I don't know if that had anything to do with it or not.

I called MS last week about this. I own at OKW with a March UY. I am about to get 2006 BWV points with a Sep UY transferred to me. I asked how this would be handled and, after being put on hold so the CM could verify it, I was told they would reatin the Sep UY but become OKW points. We'll see what happens. It is very important to me that these points retain the Sep 05 UY as I will be using them in July 06.

We tried to have points transferred into our account to use in May, but the people we were renting them from were told by MS that the points if transferred because our UY is Sept would go into our next UY and would not be available for this May. I didn't understand, but we rented the points are fine now.
