I know there is a thread dealing generally with 2017 release dates, but I wondered if anyone has a guess as to when you think the EBTA for 2017 would depart. Generally it seems to depart around the 15th of May, but I wondered if anyone thinks next year might depart a week later, like it did in 2014? I would like to sail this itinerary, but with kids in school it is difficult. If it were to depart 20-21 May it would be possible for our kids to miss the last week of school given exemptions, etc. (Our schools finish up the week before Memorial day).

Also any thoughts on where it would depart from? It looks like the Magic is sailing from San Juan through the end of April 2017, but I wonder if they would move her back to Port Canaveral or Miami in order to depart on the EBTA?

Any thoughts?

My guess, having seen the Amsterdam port schedule before it was removed, is that it will be leaving mid-may again. I also think since they have a hard time filling TAs, that they would reposition it back to Port Canaveral before sailing, especially if it is doing another Northern Atlantic itinerary.

Do you remember when she was scheduled to call in Amsterdam?

I believe the first date it was listed as in Amsterdam was 5/25

Best guest is that it will leave Port Canaveral on Saturday, 5/13/17. It is due to arrive there from San Juan on 5/13 and shows up on the Amsterdam port schedule in late May.

Where are they going to stick the Fantasy on Saturday if that is the case? The magic would either leave on Sunday or Thursday if they keep the same schedule for the Dream and the Fantasy. Though it could accommodate better if they did a couple of 5 day double dips on the Dream! I think they would depart from Miami if they had set date in mind and didn't have the DCL cruise terminal.

Now that you mention it, perhaps it does end up in Miami. I know I saw it listed somewhere but now can't find it. Given the Magic's entry on the Amsterdam port schedule I do think the TA will depart either from Miami on 5/13/17 or PC on 5/14/17.

My guess is that it will depart PC on 5/14/17. I remember one year when it traveled without passengers up to PC for the TA. I think there is so much to load on when it will be heading to Europe that they used the extra time to get everything ready in PC with no passengers to disembark. Just a guess. I am anxiously awaiting the itinerary.

An 11 day TA seems rather short, though, if it is in Amsterdam the 25th. The 2015 EBTA was 15 days.

Now, we wait.

The EBTA in 2014 was 12 nights. Has to do with the number of ports visited, and when she's due in Dover, Barcelona, Amsterdam(wherever). It's quite do-able to have a transatlantic cruise that's only 7 nights long.

Guess it is doable, just won't be as much fun! I loved the 15 day crossing.

My guess is that Amsterdam is just a port, not the final destination. I think it will end up in Copenhagen on the 27th or 28th.
