Tran Air $129 roundtrip?

FYI for anyone in the central Virginia area. I was able to get the air tran deal through Richmond airport. We got round trip tickets nonstop. leave on 8/14 at 11am. Return flight leaves orlando on 8/24 at 3pm. Price was 119 per person plus 28 dollars tax for a total of 147. This is great as we were planning to drive. Now I can take less vacation days and not be all tired from the driving!! :woohoo:

BTW I called CRO and just asked if the ariline deal was available.

Are you getting the 'deal' fare online? Or did you have to call? I am looking to book out of MSP also. I just hate their non-stop return flight time! If I save a lot of $$$ on airfare I might add another day to my package. :D

I called CRO, and the price she quoted me was a little over $700 for 3 people (2 adults and a 10 year old). I didn't think to verify with her that she was checking the special deal for me. Most of the flights by different carriers that I looked up today were around $230 (including tax), so I didn't think the Disney price seemed any cheaper. I will call back tomorrow and see what rate they quote me.

What if I booked my package calling 1407wdisney? Is that the same as CRO? I always get them confused. Can I still get the airline deal? What is everyone asking for when they call? Airtran special?

I did not go through CRO to get the $129 RT fare. I went online with Air Tran and was able to see all the flights and fares available, and luckily there was a good option for us with the cheap fares. If you don't see what you want on the Air Tran site, then I would call CRO and see if they have anything better.

I went to the site and it is showing 104/leg for MSP. DId you look under anything special or did you just put in your dates and it came up?

Thanks to those who posted this deal.

We got airfare on Airtran through Disney's CRO for $146/rt (before taxes) out of Minneapolis/St. Paul. That's a great price! Non stop flight even!

Our dates are Sept. 3 - Sept. 8.

You got a good deal! I just called for my dates, September 23-30, and he quoted me 216.20/person. I asked for the Airtran special and he said he did have it and that was what he gave me. Doesn't seem that "special" to me.

Did you ask for anything specific? Maybe I asked for the wrong thing.

Some are getting the deal through CRO.
When I called for a quote, I asked for the airtran special.

AAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

I just checked my reservation online and I saw the air transportation had been dropped. So I called CRO and was told that it was dropped because I hadn't paid in full. Well darn I booked it through CRO, I told them Iwanted the flights, we arranged Magical Express for those flights, I did everything requested of me by the CM at the time of booking and I'm certain he knew I wanted those flights. But he forgot to do the payment in full on them and I didn't know it was needed to tell him to do it. So now my flights are gone from Disney's special and CRO can't/won't rebook them for me even though they flights are still open on Air Tran's site.

I guess now I'm waiting again for SWA to come out with flights for mid September.

I called the 1407wdisney number. I told them my ressie number and then asked about flights on airtrans from RIC. When I first made the ressie on tuesday I ask about airfare and didnt specify airtran. They tried to get me to buy delta tickets at 250 each. Glad I didnt take that fare!!

I put my dates in, and most flights had $109 rate each way, but there were a couple w/a web special price of $54 each way. Those were the ones I picked. I booked this several weeks ago, but I just went online and my flights are still listed at $54. Im leaving out of Wash. Dulles at 12:30pm on 8/22, and returning 8/30 at 3:50pm. Both are non-stop.

WOW Glad I went back and read this thread!!!

I had not been charged for the airfare either. When I checked my ressie the airfare was there but it said the balance on my package was due on 4/5/06 :scared1: I called up the WDTC and they told me if the airfare had not been paid within 24 hours I would have lost the flights. The CM I spoke with last night told me I didnt have to pay for the airfare up front. Hope some one straightened him out or there are going to be some mighty unhappy campers out there. I was able to pay for just the flight and the balance is due by June 29th. For all those out there make sure you check your ressie on line!!!

Did you try booking an entirely new reservation and adding the airfare too?
If you get the new reservation with the airfare, couldn't you cancel the first one?

I'd give it a shot. I wouldn't cancel the first one though till you have something else booked though.

Thanks for the suggestion EEyorelover22 and thanks for posting that warning.

I've got some tricky medical requests attached to my reservation and I wouldn't feel comfortable trying to get them all correct again. So I'll just wiat abit on SWA and hope that either SWA or Air Tran will come down under the $200.00 per person mark. When I booked the CRO Air Tran flights they hit at $147.00 so it won't really be that big of a hit on my wallet.

It's just frustrating to have it all set up and then have the CM drop the ball on payment. I'm sure he didn't say it needed to be paid then or else I would have had it done during my conversation with him.

Bill, Southwest WILL beat the Airtran fares, I am just more than sure of this. So, I would just wait it out for them for sure. I wouldn't stress about it.

When we were scheduling our air they let us know that they have to be paif within 48 hrs for those kinds of flights...Strange they didn't tell you. I do't understand why you can't add them and pay for them though... :confused3

Really they didn't tell me. I was extremely happy to get this flight and there was no way I'd let it go if I knew. I'm perfectly willing to pay when asked to do so. I'm not the type of guy who would hold off till the last minute just to save a days worth of interest on my credit card. If he had told me then it would have been paid before the call was over.

I did try to get them to rebook my flights. But they couldn't get the original flights. Instead of my return flight leaving at 5:00 in the afternoon, giving me time to hit a park for half a day, have some fun and relax abit the only flight they could get was an 8:00 AM flight. Since DME picks you up 3 hours before your flight I'd need to get up around 4:00 AM. I'm sorry but that's not anywhere close to the same arrangement I had with the other flight.

I even tried to see if they could book other flights at a higher cost and they said the only flight they had left was the 8:00 AM one.

Edited to add:

One more thing, this is the first time I've booked a flight through CRO so I didn't know thier policy for full payment of air fares. I just assumed my deposit was all that was needed.

Thanks :)

I'm sure hopping they will beat it or come semi close. Right now I'm beggining to worry more about the flight times then the price. I'd happily pay $200.00 a ticket for some good flight times.

That is the nice thing about SW, the flight times. Airtran only has those couple non stops out each day to Orlando from BWI. Southwest has pretty much only non stops. We just learned this week that SW is getting TWO terminals at Dulles soon!!! WOOHOO! I fly out of BWI just for SW, so I am so happy about this.

I had to pay my air RIGHT THEN AND THERE... they would hold it only until 5:30 that night so the CM said....so I paid right away...then called right back to confirm payment of air and flights and times...
