Tran Air $129 roundtrip?

We are looking at booking in September too (probably leaving on a Thursday and coming back on Sunday) and flying out of Flint. Did you have to pay the entire cost of the airfare up front or was it added on to your vacation package? Also were you able to get decent flight times?

Thanks to those who posted this deal.

We got airfare on Airtran through Disney's CRO for $146/rt (before taxes) out of Minneapolis/St. Paul. That's a great price! Non stop flight even!

Our dates are Sept. 3 - Sept. 8.

Yes, we had to pay the entire airfare balance upon booking. I'm really not sure if there was another option. We are flying out early a.m. and the return flights leaves at 7:30 p.m. Those were the only two flights available that were non stop. Perfect for us because our vacation is a little shorter this time so we wanted to maximize our days. Airtran also flys out of Detroit so there may be other non stop flights available. You can always check out their website for the schedule. Hope that helps!

I've tried calling twice today and the system is down for booking Airtran through CRO. :badpc: They said to try calling back later... :rolleyes1

For those who booked flying from BWI, did you have any other flight time choices? I'd like to get the first flight to MCO and a late flight home. :Pinkbounc

I was looking for non stop flights from BWI. On the flight down I wasn't able to get the 7:05 AM flight on a Saturday but I was able to get the 12:31 flight. We'll arrive abit later but we should hit the hotel at check in time and hopefully our rooms will be ready. On the flight back on Saturday I was able to get the 4:59 nonstop flight which is the last non stop flight of the day.

We totally lucked out on this... and may I just say that the airtran deal was the clincher with my DH! Between the free dining and cheaper airline, we're saving $1100 over my original price quotes and I didn't have to change a single date... The 4 of us are flying out of Moline for $750. A completely un-heard of price around here! The fares are generally so high out here that people are willing to drive the 3 hrs to Chicago to get better fares. And now *I* don't have to!!! LOL

A huge thanks to whoever posted that OP back in Sat, because my friend saw it and immediately e-mailed me about it!

Is that non stop?

We fly out of Moline, and are not willing to drive to Chicago, no matter what the savings. :)

We already booked our own flight for Sept. through Travelocity at $163 per person total, but it's a connecting flight on NWA.

We also thought we got a great deal for our Dec. trip from Travelocity - $203 non stop. 2 days later they cancelled the non stop & put us on a connecting flight. Still thought the rate was good. But it's on Delta , so that may have been a HUGE mistake.

It's nonstop there, with an hour layover back. There is a nonstop on the day we're coming back (9/30), but it wasn't available to us at the 'special' rate. Considering I was patiently waiting for the $99 one-way fare, I was elated to get anything less than that! Come to think of it, I never did get the actual ticket price out of anyone... but with taxes and all the other related nonsense, it was $187.40 per person.

And it's only going to take me 30 minutes to get to the airport! =)

Has anyone gotten an Air Tran quote from Disney for flying out of Minneapolis/Saint Paul (MSP) to MCO? When I called for a quote today, it seemed like the airfare come to around $700.00 for two adults and a 10 year old. I was just curious if anyone has gotten the $129 fare out of MSP.

Edited to add: DUH - If I would have read through this thread more carefully before I posted this question, I would have seen that eight posts up, M1CKEYM0USE1 had already said...

Thanks for the info. M1CKEYM0USE1 - my dates are for August 13 - 19, so maybe that is a more expensive time. Also, the price that I was quoted seems to be the price that is listed on the AirTran website. I will call back and be more specific about asking if they have any other special deals.

Moline has been having some great fares to Orlando recently. A few weeks ago I got round trip tickets on American Airlines for $148.00 each out of MLI. We do have a short layover in Chicago each way, but it is less than an hour each time. Last week I think there were some $164.00 fares, but they keep fluctuating - one day they will be over $300, then a few days later they will be under $200.

How about for those flying out of Akron/Canton???? If I could get a 129 I think we would do it!

Thanks for any help!

ok ~ so you have to book a WDW package to get this airfare, right? If I happen to cancel the WDW portion of the package before the cut off date, can I still keep the airfare portion?

Well, now I know to check them all next time, not just the one I think will end up the cheapest! But I'm so darned excited about the fare I got, I feel like I won a bundle on that Deal or No Deal show!! LOL

They've been changing more frequently than that. :)

It was driving me crazy! DH couldn't make up his mind. I'd walk downstairs & tell him a rate, walk back up & it would be different.

Glad we caught a good rate & don't have to keep watching. :)

I booked my Air Tran flights through their website a couple of weeks ago and was able to get the $129 RT rate from Dulles for Aug. 22. They showed several flight options, but not all of them had the low rate. I was thrilled to get a 12:30pm departure and non stop to boot! My husband works for another airline, but $129 RT is well worth not flying standby for me!

I just got off the phone with CRO and first she told me there was a 7:05a.m. flight out of BWI that was non-stop, but on the way home the flight left at 11:30a.m. and stopped in Atlanta, not getting into BWI until 3:30. That's a 2hr non-stop, so I passed on that one. I asked her to see if there was anything else and she put me on hold and came back to say that Airtran wasn't offering anymore specials out of BWI. I'm sorry now I didn't ask her to be more specific, that's all she said. So I guess I'll wait it out for flights on SW... :rolleyes1

mine are out of Kansas City....

they are 177 pp but considering we were all set to pay 252 pp...I could not be happier!!!

almost cut in HALF.... total for 5 was 880 bucks!!!!! STOKED....scored and saved :)

we have to drive 2 hrs to KC but we have done this many times...now I need to find info on AT...do we get assigned seats or no?? We have three small kids....

anyway we have good times

arrives OR at 6 pm

leaves OR 6 pm

we get in kinda late but the kids can sleep in the car while we drive home I guess...2 hours for 600 bucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :woohoo:

even cheaper than last years price....

Are you getting the 'deal' fare online? Or did you have to call? I am looking to book out of MSP also. I just hate their non-stop return flight time! If I save a lot of $$$ on airfare I might add another day to my package. :D
