daughter did Marine Mammal Keeper last year in Orlando when she was 14..she went alone. There were two other people participating. That's the daily max....

it's $400 bucks.....

You begin before the park opens and it ends about 2pm. Program includes lunch.

I think your exact animal interactions can change but she got close up time with Belugas, fed the dolphins & the sea lions, and watched manatee's ummmm..... 'react' to their medical examination :rolleyes1 . No real orca time.....

She enjoyed it but must have begun to appreciate the value of a dollar cuz when asked if she wanted to do it agin this year for her birthday she said no, she was a bit disappointed with the amount of animal interaction; that there was actually a lot of standing around...didn't think it was worth the $ to go again.

But she likes wearing they t-shirt they gave her!

honestly if its that much u are better off just saving your money and doing a resident camp. Then you get a week to experience things that you will never do again. At resident camp u spend a day at basically every animal you mentioned including shamu. However u do not get to interact with them. They are very careful with the killer whales. You get to do a dolphin dip and a beluga interaction depending on what park u do it at, and then numerous other things that are way worth the money. I have attended and would do it again if it werent to old.

I have done Trainer for a Day at Discovery Cove and Seaworld San Diego and the Marine Mammal Keeper Experience at Seaworld Orlando. Out of the lot, the Marine Mammal Keeper Experience was my favourite. Sure, at Discovery Cove I got to swim with the dolphins and experience some great behaviours like a double foot push and at Seaworld San Diego I got to interact with kilerwhales and also swim with dolphins in the dolphin stadium. I would not have missed any of the experiences for the the world. However, they always felt a bit like glorified behind the scenes tours to me. The Marine Mammal Keeper Experience was different. I actually felt I had a real insight in what is like to work with those animals. I got to interact with seals and sea lions, bottle feed an orphaned manatee, interact with Belugas and plenty of interaction with the dolphins both behind the scenes and at Dolphin Cove. I also cut up fish for the otters and scrubbed buckets, but this is all part and parcel of the experience. This year I had the choice between doing either Trainer for a Day at Discovery Cove or the Marine Mammal Keeper Experience due to lack of time (in November I did both) and I have decided to go for the Marine Mammal Keeper Experience.
