There's not too much info on the restaurant boards about this, but I've read some bad reviews for dinner. How is the breakfast? We're staying there for the first time in August, and will probably have breakfast a couple of times.

Also, can you see the fireworks at MK from FW?

Thanks!

The breakfast is good. The price (for disney) is very good. The breakfast pizza is really good.

The donuts are evil evil evil, I had 3 one morning :rotfl2: :p :dance3:

We were there last month and only went to eat breakfast once, the breakfast there is really good, yes, especially the breakfast pizza!!! We did eat dinner there only because they no longer have the take out chicken, and it was just ok. DH like their pizza but I didn't.

Ooopppsss! Forgot response to fireworks question...
YES, you can see the fireworks from the seating area near the boat dock. Make sure of the times for them as they are not always the same time each night and some of the CM's at Trail's End give the wrong times to people.
We were surprised that sometimes music for the fireworks are piped in the speakers nearby...(not every night though).

My family has enjoyed Dinner several times and found the food to be a very good value and the staff always friendly. And yes, I have heard that breakfast is very good!

When did they stop take out chicken? We had it in April.

I was just there 5/29-6/6 and they did still have the take-out chicken, I think there was 2 different sizes and it included a couple of sides.

We like Trail's End for breakfast. Last time I was disappointed they didnt have french toast but maybe it was just that day. But they have lots of good breakfast items including Mickey waffles and the price is good.

We always do dinner at Trails End. For the price it is a nice buffet, it is not as elaborate as other Disney buffets, but it is also cheeper. The fried chicken is great, my mom likes the chili and cornbread and the kids can always get their fill of Disney mac-n-cheese.

We eat both breakfast and dinner there at least once every trip. We even have a favorite serve at dinner time. Never been disappointed.

Thanks everyone for your replies! We'll definitely eat breakfast there once or twice, but with free dining, our dinners are all taken care of. :thumbsup2

Been to TE over 5o times thru the years---it has always been a little hit and miss--but I must say this last trip---early June we found the dinner wonderful---to the point that we actually ate there 3 times---never ever done that at any restaurant

food was always fresh and they seem to have added more veggies

We4Mickey, in response to your asking when they discontinued the takeout chicken.....as recently as the week before we arrived in May...they still had posters up at the Comfort Station that advertised the meal, but I didn't know that until after we argued that that is what we wanted. They are pushing the Trail's End portion of the meal rather than take out as it is more expensive and the first night there, the gals at the podium didn't sound like they wanted to seat us near the bar (all we got was a pizza and drinks). I just got my survey card from Disney...anyone have any gripes to add to my own that you need to get off of your chest??? My continual gripe is the pools that are so bland...

Fried chicken is available fo take out... but no chicken nuggets for the kiddo's.

I thought that you could only do take out from the bar and that all the tables were for the buffet. The pizza is part of the take out along with chicken wings, ect.from Crocketts Tavern. You can get pizza by the piece with the buffet.

Trail's end has been reconfigured. Buffet seating now includes what was once seating for Crockett's. The bar is still there, but no longer are you able to sit in that area and order the appetizers and pizza you once could. If you want take out chicken, pizza etc it is still available. Go to the double doors that were once the main entrance and go in and place your order at the cash register. This is also the entrance for refillable mugs. Seating for the buffet is handled at the lower door, to the right, that was once the front entrance to Crocketts. I think this may be where the confusion is coming from and hope this may have cleared things up for some.

ooooo....that wicked, wicked CM....we wanted to do the chicken and she said that they had done away with it...I think she understood that we wanted to eat it there, that is why she said it was no longer on the menu.
