Trails End Reservation Question

I've heard that Trail's End now takes Priority Seating Reservations. Is it still fairly easy to just walk in for lunch or dinner? We usually will eat a big late lunch or an early dinner, so it wouldn't be at the peak dining times. I am curious to hear from someone who has been recently. It seems I've heard the Dining Plan has changed the availabilty for walk in dining at most WDW restaurants. Wondering if it has affected Trail's End also. And is take-out still available? This has always been my favorite place to eat at WDW even before we had a camper! We will be at the Fort Dec.1 thru 5th. Thanks!

WE eat at TE at least a couple of times every trip and dont always have ADR's but we have been dissapointed once in a while. I would make ADR just to be on the safe side. We have found that at least half the time you need them. As far as I know take out is available. Enjoy your trip.

We ate there early lunch and dinner no problems without reservations.

A few weeks ago the wait time for a Saturday lunch around 12:30ish was 45 minutes. We rocked and watched the kid play but we got pretty hungry waiting. If I had to do it again I'd probably get one takeout to share and sit on the porch at the picnic tables (they have 2) and eat quicker and cheaper.
