Trail's End breakfast

I loved their breakfast and my daughter loved their lunch so we would go at 11:30 so we could get both, it has been a couple months since we were last there other then we went yesterday for lunch which was horrible. The amount of money it costs would have been better spent elsewhere. Even the sweet tea was bad and so was the servers attitude. You would think that since Disney laid off so many people they would have kept the best of the best. Has anyone been to Mickeys Backyard BBQ this year yet, is it as good as last year?

We have ressies for MBYB. First time we are going. We had HDDR planned as well, but I had to cancel that one in lu of extra dining credits. I know HDDR serves wine and beer, but does MBYB? I haven't read anywhere that they do, and if they do, what kinds do they have? Oh yeah, the food :) How is that by the way, just looking forward to all you can drink (hopefully), I can just crawl back to my cabin. :hippie:

Last year when we went to MBYB they did serve beer and wine. Have fun! Oh yeah, they also serve tons of Mickey icecreams!!

Last year they did have wine and beer, we only drank the punch which was really good. They have some of the best ribs I have ever tasted. Love country music, loved the dancing and character interaction. Hope this year is like last.

Thanks for the info on the BBQ. I wonder if I can smuggle some icecreams back to the cabin after the festivities. I am looking so forward to it now since it started snowing about 1/2 hour ago. uggg. :hippie:

We had breakfast at Trails End this morning. Yes the selection was less than I've seen before, but everything there was hot and fresh and well prepared. We didn't leave hungry.

We went to Trail's End for breakfast a few days ago. I have eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner there many times in the past and enjoyed it, but this was a disappointment - the selections were very limited. The fruit, which was always a mainstay of my breakfast, was mostly gone - just watermelon and some grapes. The hash was gone, too. I just got a big plate of eggs. My kids were fine, because they just load up on bacon and Mickey waffles, but I doubt I'll be going back. Particularly with the ridiculous holiday surcharge, which percentage-wise is VERY large for Trail's End, it is waaaay overpriced for what you get.

Looking forward to our first trip to the fort...

Hubby and I discussed meal planning for the trip recently. We did the DP on our last trip and won't do it again.

Usually when camping (week long stays) we do a 50/50 mix of dining out and campsite cooking. But campsite breakfasts are the most fun, I do them outside on the portable coleman and make a spread from eggs and all the sides to waffles or pancakes. Our favorite is french toast with fruit toppings. Getting hungry....

But I told hubby since TE is right there I didn't plan on making any big spreads for breakfast, we'd just go there on our way to the boats. My reasoning was it would take too long to make and cleanup, and hello? priorities- have to get to the parks. But I'm reconsidering this after reading this thread.

When we ate there last year we liked it but didn't look at the pricing because we were on the DP. But it would be over $60 for breakfast and over $75 for dinner! That's nuts.....the food was good, we liked it but not for that kind of money. I'd rather cook my breakfast spreads at the campsite and save the money for something else....

I might reconsider if the reports change before November.

Heck, we'd be better off going to a counterservice restaurant... I recall getting the freshmade Mickey Waffles at the Allstar, for my son, I think it was less than $8 including drink and bacon or sausage.... no it's not all you can eat but then, who really NEEDS all you can eat....

Both the Contemporary and the Wilderness Lodge have good counterservice restaurants and you can get to both of them early enough in the morning and still get to the parks early.

The boat to either the Contemporary or Wilderness Lodge starts at 6:45 am.
