Looking for opinions & pictures of Trails End at Fort Wilderness. Thinking about trying this buffet during our next visit. I tried searching the forum but I didn't see anything. Thanks for your help!

Our family always does a dinner at Trails End each time we visit the world. As buffets go at WDW it is the cheapest and we have found it also to be the most relaxed and serene. Don't get me wrong. We love the character buffets and the interaction that you get with them. But we also like a relaxing moment or two and Trails End fits that ticket nicely. The boat ride over to Fort Wilderness is an added bonus and you really feel like you're getting away from the hurried pace of it all.

As for the food, we have found it to be consistently good. There is nothing fancy about it, but at the same time you really don't have to worry if you have any picky eaters. It is not a large buffet, but the quality of the food has always been excellent. My favorites are the ribs and fried chicken. My wife loves the peel-n-eat shrimp on the salad bar.

Hope this helps you out.

I agree with the PP - it is a nice place to spend a dinnertime away from the park-side madness. I like the food too, and yes, it's not fancy (no prime rib, no chocolate-covered pastries with mickey ears, no steamed asparagus...) but it's consistently good and it is all-you-can-eat for a good price.

At least at dinner it is, I've read that they've switched lunch over to an a la carte menu rather than a buffet.

We usually go for dinner, get over to Fort Wilderness late in the afternoon, hang out a little and then head in for Trail's End dinner and usually end up at the campfire movie after that.

I agree with the previous posters. We try to go to Trail's End whenever we can for a good value.

Another positive review here too:thumbsup2
We really loved this place - can't wait to go back in a few weeks!!!

Love this place too. I'll be eating there next Friday night!! Can't wait.

I will be going for the 1st time this Dec. I am really looking forward to it.

We tried this for the first time in August of 09, have been back 2 times since, with another dinner booked for April. It has become one of our must dos. Even being a bit out of the way, the trip is worth it. :goodvibes

Had bfast there in August when we stayed at WL. Short boat ride. Thought it would be different. Bfast buffet was quiet. There were only 3 or 4 tables being used. Supposedly it is really quiet for morning and lunch as the campers want to get to rope drop.

Thanks for your opinions! It sounds like this is definately going to make the list.

One of our favorites. It is nice to get away from some of the fancy food and just eat a real meal. The area is beautiful and the boat ride is great. Stay after for the Campfire it is really fun.

We ate here on our last trip this past summer. It is now my DH new favorite place to eat. The food was good, the service was fantastic and we love the theme.:thumbsup2

We ate there twice in '98 and it still stands out as one of the nicest places I've ever vistied and the server there (same both nights) was the best server I've ever had anywhere...inside the world or not.

We have a ressie here on Thanksgiving for dinner. Has anyone ever had Thanksgiving dinner here? Opinions? Thanks.
