I need your help everyone....my beloved 7 yr old neice just watched the Disney promo video in preparation for her trip with us in November. She saw someone on a horse in the video (didn't watch it with her) and she asked me if she could go horseback riding at WDW. I have never seen horses there, can anyone offer any insight??

Many thanks.

P.S. It is about to snow here...arrrgh....and 'they' have to wonder why we are DVC members and go to Florida every year??????

You can ride at the stables at Fort Wilderness Campground. I do believe there is a min. age requirement of nine. They do offer pony rides at the stables though!

if she isn't an accomplished horse woman she'd probably enjoy it.. my kids loved it when they were around that age. the horses are very docile( ie safe:)) and a cm goes with them.

I'm surprised they didn't censor the "snow" word...defintely a swear word tto me and something i hate to hear :teeth:

I hear you loud and clear....I have been up here waaaaaay too long.....22years!!! I am simply a Toronto gal who lost her way many moons ago.

We always have snow up here by Halloween (usually about a foot by then) and it lasts (and lasts!) until the end of April!!!! But i did meet my beloved DH up here,:love2: ,so there is some good things to be said about the Great White North.

Thanks for the replies everyone!!!

It was about 95 here again, today. We're hoping the cool front will finally make it to Louisiana. We're hoping for 67 tomorrow morning, getting up to 80 or so.

We did the horseback riding when my son turned 9 (for his birthday trip). We had a good time. But I was sore for a while afterwards. I had never ridden a horse before.

My kids did the horse back riding from the Tri Circle D Ranch at WDW several years ago and loved it:

I've done the horseback riding several times, both as a child and as an teen/early 20s. I really enjoyed it. It's a nice little walk in the woods of fort wilderness. They do recommend that you wear pants and you must wear close toed shoes.
