Traffic delay between Port Canaveral and Orlando.

I did forget to mention 1 thing. BOTH lanes of the 528 are closed for however long, contrary to some news reports. I looked at 4 different online news agancies, and no 2 were the same.

I am sorry to ask this but where exactly is the bridge that was damaged? Is it coming from Orlando? We are driving down from Tennessee in 2 days and are trying to make travel plans.

Hello Mindi,
The bridge is right on Highway 528 AKA as the beachline - it is about 2 miles East after going over US1 -----it has been made as easy as possible under the circumstances and enough direction signs and officers to help while the new bridge is being built - Norm and I were able to go both ways without too much of a hassle, but does REQUIRE PATIENCE.

We just did the trip (Boardwalk to port, port to MCO) for the Dream's Maiden Voyage. I doubt that the detour adds more that 30sec to the whole trip. The traffic patten has been modified to give priotity to folks headed to/from port.

we arrived on the evening of the accident, ironic we were supposed to get there between 3:30 and 4:00, but were delayed several hours by snow up north ... so didn't get there until after 9:00 pm ... weird how things work.

Anyway, we just drove it Saturday, the 29th after getting off the magic and as others stated it is really just a quick on and off the ramp now... they have the whole bridge torn down and looked like they were pouring concrete.

our thoughts are also with the families and friends of those who lost their lives in the accident.
