Trading up

One hung to factor is that you need 25% more points at VGF than the older ones. So though you may get a bigger contract it doesn’t have the buying power of the same points at another resort so it really comes I to play whether or not you are buying VGF to stay at VGF or (VGC, Aulani etc that have high point cost)

Yes one needs more points if the villas cost more points for the same size stay. This is an important factor for the more in demand resorts like VGF, BCV, VGC and one should include that up front in their decision making. That alone doesn't make them a poor choice, it's just a decision on value and cost. But it can make them a poor choice to use elsewhere very often if the up front cost per point and/or the dues are disproportionate.

Just to give a small update to this thread. We ended up offering on another contract with 170 points with Dec UY, and that offer was just accepted. Thanks again for the help, best forum on this site I swear. ::yes::
I think that is the better option. In the future, if you want to sell one contract, it is much easier to sell contracts in the 150-200 point range than a single large (over 300 pt) contract.
Good luck.
