Trading RCI points for DVC stays

Does anybody have a link to a definitive informational site or have the lowdown on the particulars of exchanging RCI points (NOT weeks) into stays/days at DVC resorts?

Seems to be scattered info all over the web, but just in forums and it's hard to get a handle on it.

If you're a member already simply go on your RCI points account then click on RCI Points Vacations/Standard Reservations. It should default to Region, select FL Orlando and enter your dates (can only search 30 days at a time). That should bring up a screen that lists a number of resorts. Change the default from 10 to 25 to see more resorts on one page and filter as applicable with the info on the left.

If you're not a member, just know you'll need as many as 120K points for a 2BR depending on time and resort though 90K will get you most resorts for much of the year. These points need to NOT be based in Orlando area and you need to not have other Orlando components in your RCI account. There is no ongoing search option with RCI points and essentially no trade power issues. If you're thinking of buying something that will work this way, you need to be very cognizant of the number of points you're getting both from a price and yearly fee standpoint. It is possible to get the yearly costs under 1¢ per point including the RCI points account yearly fee. If you're looking to buy RCI points I'd suggest TUG (Timeshares Users Group) and to start watching ebay auctions.
