We have close friends that are about to buy into DVC. We own at OKW. They are thinking of buying into Beach Club. Has anyone ever swithced points. If we wanted to stay at Beach Club and they wanted to stay at OKW. Do you put the points into the others account or do you just make reservations for them. If you do put the points(okw) into someone elses account(BeachClub) do they get the benefit of booking 11 months at the other resort(okw)?

You have two ways to go:

1. You could make ressies for your friends using your points at 11 months out. You would simply put the reservation in their name. They would do the same for you.

2. You could actually transfer your points to your friends' membership account and then they could make a ressie 11 months out at your resort using your points as the points retain their home resort identity.

The first method is preferred because there are no restrictions as to the number of times you can do it. For the second, you are limited to one "transfer" in or out of your account in any given use year. As a result, you could transfer out but then your friends could not transfer to you during the same use year as your transfer would count as the one limit for both of you.
