Trading into BWV at 7 Months

My question is what is your experience trading into BWV at the 7 month window? We are in the process of buying a contract at either OKW or BWV, we can afford a 250pt deal at OKW vs 210 at the BWV (partially because of the lower maint. cost) and am having a hard time deciding. The extra points like enticing but I like the BWV location more than OKW (even though DW likes OKW a litle more). We would usually be going off-season, usually January, if that makes a difference and probably into a studio. THANKS!!!

I know it's more money but honestly you should buy where you want to stay. There are people here who have taken the cheaper road and regret it. Please don't be one.

It's possible but if you are going to be unhappy at OKW then I would buy into BWV.

Although January is a low season for the rest of WDW, it is a very popular time, especially for studios, for DVC members because it has the lowest points schedule. Studios tend to be more taken up by couples without kids like myself and my husband, which I think makes them harder to get in January because we don't have to stick to a school holiday schedule.

People have had success getting into BWV at the 7 month window but not consistently. You really have to be flexible and willing to take whatever is available if you book outside of your home resort window. Maybe with BCV opening up that will help some. I would not count at all on a standard view either.

If you take into account the difference between being able to get a standard view at the 11 month window and having to get a preferred view at the 7 month window, is it still better to have more points vs. the home booking opportunity at BWV? I don't know, you'll have to do the calculation.

Buy where you want to stay. We own at both and love them both for different reasons. I would never give up the 11 month window at BWV. I have heard too many horror stories about not being able to book at 7 months during busier times. We just booked our Spring Break '03 week at the 11 month window and got six nights, standard view, 2BR, with no problem at all.
