Have an offer to buy 200 points at Beach Club Villas for $53 per point....4 day cruise is 5-7k....if i take this cruise every 2-3 years for the life of the contract....which I know I wont do but hear me out....seems very logical that its pays out....just can see spending 5 7 9k for a cruise then poof the moneys gone....the DVC person who was outstanding even though she new I was buying resale put it this way......that deal on BVC is great just buy it!!
53 per point divided by life of contract 33 years = $1.60 per point + $5.00 per point for maint.= $6.60 X 600 points(needed for the cruise) = $3960.00....math works.....renting my points would only bring me 2-3 k maybe....could try and find DVC member who doesn't own Marriott or Westin ....so maybe I could trade my weeks for points.....thanks for all you help in advance....just got back from 1st visit to Marriott Waiohai Easter break wow!!!

You may want to look at the DVC forum before you get too far along on this, the odds of DVC not exercising ROFR on a 53 $point BCV resale is low.

there is no way that dvc will let this go for 53 dollars a point. dvc will buy it back in a heartbeat. when someone sells there dvc ,disney has the first right to buy it back at the cost what the person is going to buy it for.

Not to burst your bubble, but no way will that BCV contract at $53 get through ROFR. There is a current ROFR thread on Disboards and Activrain. Check them out. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2156883

Buying only to rent is not the best idea. Renting out points can be harder than it looks, especially when there is a glut of points on the market.

And I agree. Your contract for $53 a point at BCV will never pass ROFR. Disney will snap it up at that price.

As others have said, it's unlikely to go through. The only way it would is if DVC is in a conflict of interest situation such as in foreclosure. Still, even if it did, it's a poor choice to buy for cruises or just to rent out. Too much risk, too many hassles and not enough return. If you can get it, go for it because you could resell it. But don't buy for the rental or cruises.
