Tracey's wedding weight loss attempt (comments welcome & needed!!)

Hi Tracey! I certainly empathize when it comes to all the yummy treats around us! I've had so much chocolate, cheesecake and caramel, that I'm probably still on a sugar high! ;) But, you have a TERRIFIC plan for the New Year so I'm quite confident that those pesky pounds will disappear before you know it. Tracey, sounds like you have a great plan in place to get back on track Tuesday. It is wonderful that you have already done your menu and shopping.:banana: Here's to a Happy and Healthy (and lighter!) 2007!
 
You have won the first part of the battle - planning! Sticking to your plan is so much easier when you have your menus spelled out and all the right foods readily available! I don't know how you can live without carbs for 2 weeks, but you've done it before and you can do it again! :cheer2:

Great job getting that budget planned as well. I think if you keep the vision of another WDW trip in your mind you can save all kinds of $!!

Your goals sound good, we just need to get through til tomorrow - but it already is tomorrow where you are!!!

Saving money is something I MUST do as well! It's going to be difficult, though!

Hi wish buddies, hope you all had a great new years eve.
Gary didnt have to work but the weather was so wet & windy we decided to stay in! Had a bottle of champagne & watched the fireworks in London on the tv. I telephoned DB in wdw he was on his way into epcot, he then called us at half past midnight from the uk in world showcase he said it was packed solid but a great atmosphere, & illuminations started up whilst he was talking, it made me cry to hear it down the phone line i soooo wanted to be there too :(
Food has been terrible i have been on a mission to hoover up all the high carb foods in the house before induction day!!! We even went to pizza hut :(
yesterday:
b/fast - croissant with butter
lunch - ate out at the pub! cajun chk & cheese baguete with fries & salad (i did eat the salad!) & 1 glass of cider.
dinner - parents came over last night & i did a small buffett ate 1 cheese & ham roll, 4 cheese & onion savoury bites, handfull of mini chedder biscuits, 3 southern fried chk pieces, 4 prawns in filo pastry, 8 pickled onions, 1 BIG piece of warm apricot baked cheesecake (yum) with cream, 3 chocolates & 1 diet coke & malibu
On the plus side Gary & i went for a lovely long walk at my fav place called rufford park i love it there, & it was a beautiful day we then went to this haunted pub for lunch! We wrote down all the places we could visit localy on the weekend for walks out & ended up with a list of 19!!! Thats 19 weekend walks :)

Today is day 1 of induction (gulp) I WI this morning & am 166 lb's, i usually WI on Friday mornings, but i'm not going to this Friday gonna wait till the next friday, that means i will have been doing induction for nearly 2 weeks before i WI again.

B/fast - didnt have any cos i didnt get up till 10am!!!
lunch - having quorn sausage, bacon & tomatos with water
dinner - having chk salad
boy that doesnt look much after what i have been shoveling down, i just dont want to get hungry, although i have cheese, ham & chk legs to snack on.
I AM going to the gym this afternoon, want to take it easy though as i havnt been in weeks!!!
Back to work tomorrow!

I want to keep reminding myself my goals for next year, so i'm gonna put them on each new page, here they are:

To exercise at least twice a weeek.
To spend more time outdoors with family at weekends (we used to go for lots of walks but it now hardly ever happens!!)
To get back on track with my food in the new year - strict low carb for the first 2 weeks, then gradually introduce 'other' healthy foods.
To try & save £300 a month!! (or as near to!)
To get another wdw trip booked.
To be sensible with my weekly spending.

Hard to believe you have so many places to walk. That would be wonderful! Now DO it!!

Good luck with Induction. I would bet you'll have a significant loss in over a week!
 
That apricot cheesecake sounds devine!!!! At least you got all the goodies out of the house so there is no temptation! I bet these 2 weeks are going to fly by.

Did you get to the gym?
 
Ok wish buddies i need some advice.
when i was going to the gym (before i stopped due to illness & xmas!) i thought i was feeling a bit dizzy on the treadmill but wasnt sure if i was imagining it.
Well i went back to the gym yesterday, i took it easy as i havnt been in a while, after 5-10 mins on treadmill i started to feel dizzy again, i hadnt even had time to break out a sweat!! When i got home i had a terrible headache right up till about 10 am today!!! I drink plenty of water & i'd ate a good healthy lunch! Any ideas????

I stayed on track with food yesterday & did 30 mins T/M & 30 mins X/trainer, burnt 180 calories :)

today day 2 induction:
b/fast - ham, cheese, m/room & tomato omlette, cup of earl grey
lunch - chk sald & diet coke
dinner - HUGE steak with tomatos, m/rooms & onion, glass of water

Not feeling hungry yet either :)
so far so good!
 
I don't know what to say about your dizziness. Are you still on any meds for your fanny problem? Could you have an ear infection? I would maybe call my doctor just to be safe. Its probably nothing but better to hear that from your doctor than me right? YOur plan for 2007 sounds good, we are all going to do this together! Keep us informed on your dizziness thing. Maybe its honeymoon bliss!

Oh and BTW, I was in Epcot last year on NYE and I really got a lump in my throat this NYE wishing I was there again! It sounds like your db had a ball, Epcot can really hold lots of people so it handles the crowds well! You'll be in Ecot yourself before you know it!
 
It sounds like your equilibrium is all out of whack. I had that happen before and the Dr told me to tough it out and that it goes away on its own in a week or two. Does it only happen when you are on the treadmill? Maybe there is a different setting you can try, or maybe you are over-exerting yourself. Is it TOM? Sometimes I'd get really lightheaded while doing cardio during TOM. If it continues, I'd give your Dr a call.

GREAT JOB with your eating!!! Just think, you already have 2 days under your belt, keep it up!!! :yay:

just a quickie as DD & DH are yelling me to come & watch a tv programe with them - 'A Place In the Sun' its about people buying property abroad & tonight some lucky people have £1.5 million to spend on a villa in spain!!!! Personally i like it when they show the houses in Florida, but i'm sure it will still totally depress me!!!

Day 3 of induction
b/fast - atkins bar, earl grey
lunch - chk salad diet coke
dinner - chk in lime & corriander (yummy) with mediteranian oven baked veg & earl grey

last night DD & DH were snacking on a box of chocs right in front of me!!! horrible people! So i went & got myself some pieces of cheese & a chk leg
(all allowed!)
hows that for willpower!!!! :)
 
Hi Tracey~

Are you still having problems with the dizziness? My first thought was maybe an ear infection or sinus infection. I was just diagnosed with a sinus infection a couple of days ago and dizziness has been part of the problem. You may want to call your doctor and mention it just to be safe.

Isn't it amazing how much money some people have? When we were in the Bahamas I wanted to go up to one of the huge yachts and ask the owner what in the heck they did for a living.

Well i said i wouldnt WI today but the lure of the scales got me, i got on telling myself i would not let it bother me whatever it said as i've only been on induction 4 days...................
I LOST 4 LB'S :banana: :banana:
So i did it let it bother me ;)

Induction day 5
B/fast - cheese, tomato & bacon omlette (really struggled to eat this i think my appitite is starting to diminish, this does happen to me on low carb - not complaining!! :))
lunch - tuna salad
dinner - 2 pork steaks with cheese on top, with 1 tomato & 1 m/room

AND I WENT TO THE GYM AGAIN :)
Didnt get dizzy this time, i slowed down my pace a little, & didnt stare at the tv so much!!!

did 30 TM & 30 min X/trainer, burnt 380 cals
hoping to get a walk in at the weekend too (if the rain ever stops!!)

Neighbours have asked us if we want to go out to dinner & a drink tonight. I said no to dinner, but we're going for a drink - water & diet coke for me (please stay with me willpower!!!)

Good luck avoiding drinks! You can do it, just keep remembering how good it felt to have lost that four pounds. Which reminds me: Congratulations! And way to go resisting the chocolate from the evil people! I have this vision of you knawing on a chicken leg shooting them dirty looks! You are doing great, just keep it up as I know you will!:thumbsup2

Sounds like you're off to a great start for the new year, and a loss, great!!

How is the dizziness problem? I agree with the others, could be a balance/ear thing. I had problems like that once, and it was a simple matter of too much wax buildup in my ears that needed a deep cleaning in the doctor's office. Sorry if TMI, but it was an easy thing that I didn't realize could cause so much trouble.

We are off out again tonight, taking DD to see an AC/DC tribute band, the owner of the place they are playing gave us permission to take her as she is a big fan of AC/DC (like her mum, i trained her well!! ;) ) I just hope its not to noisy for her!
Will be on water agin tonight!

induction day 5
b/fast - earl grey & atkins bar, not sure if i should have these on induction but i was late getting up & didnt want anything too big!
lunch - peppered mackerel, with tuna & prawn salad, water
dinner - not had yet, my appitite disapearing is making me not want to cook from the menus i wrote cos i dont feel hungry enough for them, trouble is i then dont know what else to eat!!!! Might just have some chk legs & cheese!

Didnt get to go out for a walk today as it rained AGAIN!! Will try tomorrow. Did walk into town to get some shopping done though, & i couldnt resist buying a pair of grey suede boots in the sale, but i feel guilty now as it wasnt in my budget!!!
I think that new years spending resoloution is going to be harder than the food!!!!

Honestly, that's one of the hardest things I find.....resisting temptation while socializing with friends. I'm glad to hear you weren't dizzy on the treadmill too. You're starting the year off so well. Way to go!!! :)
