TPAS2 Alumni and friends thread

I was wondering the same thing T&B, how was your anniversary dinner last night? I hope you both had a good time! :goodvibes

I've thought about doing something with computers since I seem to be on one all the time, anyway. :rotfl:

Dinner was great. I took the advice of one of my DISer friends and concentrated on what was good about the last 25 years instead of what's lacking at this point (she's kind of in my same shoes right now, so can identify) so I was able to have a great evening. The Melting Pot was good--love that place, and even though we just got the cheese fondue and a dessert fondue we were stuffed...not to mention a couple drinks. They took a bit too long bringing the last two drinks out so they were complimentary (no, we didn't ask, but they told us they would be). On top of everything else, I'd taken a couple vicodin before dinner since my migraine was still hanging on after taking a couple migraine pills, so I was flying high halfway through dinner. :woohoo:

I'm glad to hear you had a good evening last night!

Any chance your migraines are a side effect of the stress with your marriage right now? I used to get migraines all the time during my first marriage - got rid of him and haven't had a migraine since...but that marriage only lasted 2 years, I was young and dumb (19) and I now consider it a learning experience!

Vicodin, alcohol and migraine meds.....whoo hooo....you must have been flying high! :rotfl: :drinking: I'm surprised you were able to walk straight! :tilt:

Maybe you should look into becoming a newspaper reporter, you're great with conversation and can definately use a computer! :thumbsup2

You could write up a report about WDW travel with planning suggestions and submit it to your local paper to get you going! Maybe look into Freelance writing. It would give you flexibility. Just something to think about.

Off topic but this is funny. Last week my Mustang went over 36,000 miles (in about 21 months) so my warranty ended. So of course this week I have had a light go out and a seat restraint break. I just laugh.

Glad you were able to have a nice dinner..I hope everything works out for the better.

I'm going to the Melting Pot tonight for my bday...I'm excited, I've never been!

Hey Guys,

I need to vent this morning!

My mom just called me and told me that her cancer is back! :sad1: We really thought she had it beat!

The thought of having to watch my mom go through chemo again, is breaking my heart!

I figured my commando friends could cheer me up some today, and send lots of pixie dust and prayers to my mom!

Kathy

Oh Kathy, I'm so sorry! It is so tough to see a loved one going through such a difficult thing. I'm here anytime you need someone to talk to and phone phobic me will even give you my phone number if you want to really talk. Hang in there and I'll sure be thinking of you and your mom.

Ana, where is the Melting Pot in Houston?

It's off of Westheimer (I think it's Westheimer and Voss but I'm not too sure). It was really nice and a very interesting experiece however plan to be there at least for 2 hours - we were there 3!

Kathy, so sorry to hear the news. You and your mom will be in my prayers.

Thanks everyone!

I don't know if my mom can physically handle going through another full blown round of chemo again. They had to stop last year before she was scheduled to get her last round because she developed a rash, guess it was her system shutting down. But then the doctors did all these tests and told us she was cancer free.:confused3 Unfortunately she still has alot of the wonderful chemo side effects almost a year after the chemo ended!

Her new onocologist wants the entire family to come in next friday for a family meeting...this I am not looking forward to at all! :sad2:

Please keep the pixie dust and prayers coming! :grouphug:

Kathy, think of the prognosis that Sugardrawers had not too long ago (and a couple times before that). She was facing such a tough battle that it looked like she wasn't going to make it yet again and now her tumors are shrinking and things look incredibly positive for her. Sometimes the bleakest outlooks can be overcome.

I forgot that Sugardrawers had ovarian cancer like my mom. Not sure if Sugardrawers cancer had spread like my moms, but I'm glad to hear that she's doing well now.

Hopefully we will get some very promising information next week from her new onocologist.

I think I'm going to be hitting the liquor store on my way home tonight! :thumbsup2 I'm going to go home, jump in my pool...stick an IV of margarita's in my arm and float and block out the world until I fall off my chair!!!! :rotfl2:

whoo hoo!

Hopefully my husband got the leak in the solar panel fixed today, otherwise I'm going to have a hard time jumping into my pool....we've had some pretty cold nights for the last 4 days, my pool water temp was down to 65 yesterday! But then again, if I have enough tequilla in me, I won't feel it! :rolleyes1

Wic, to show my support I am going to go out with my gang-banger friends and do a couple of drive-bys. Heck, we might even sell some drugs too........:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Hey, if you still have that wish from the tag fairy why dont you use it to honor your mom.

Trek, did you see my man on my avatar??????

I was watching my Beloved Red Sox the other night and saw folks wearing jackets. The only time the pools here get down to 65 in in Jan/Feb. Enjoy!

We were in the low..low 40's for the last 5 days, this morning it was in the mid 60's! We've had a hard time getting out of the 60's and 70's this week! It's crazy! :confused3

A few weeks ago my husband forgot to turn the solar panel off on the pool, and take the solar cover off of it also...I got home from work and my pool water was 92 degrees, it was disgusting! It was like swimming in a bathtub!
