TPAS2 Alumni and friends thread

Hey all -

Hoping everyone is enjoying their summer......same old same old here. Lots of running to get ready for school and then there is football practice for DS 4 nights a week (for pete's sake, he's 5 :scared: ) and 2 nights of cheer practice for DD#2.......other than that I got tired of the painted over paneling in my powder room.....and I ripped it down on Tuesday - needless to say had a drywall guy out on Wednesday and finished the final touches on Saturday morning in time for our Fantasy Football Draft Party on Saturday afternoon at 4 :rolleyes1 Sometimes I make DH crazy :lmao: :lmao:

Can't find the charger to my camera batteries and its dead......have to look for that today, and if anyone has a boat, I may need it....rain rain rain yesterday today and tomorrow :headache:

ANA is getting ready to head to WDW I think next week. We all need to start sending her some pixie dust for a great time.

Thanks for the pixie dust guys! I'm so excited to be going - even though I'm going a week after my birthday I plan on celebrating it there so it's going to be great!!! :cool1:

I got my FIL a Happy Birthday in March and he wore it all day. The CMs and he had a lot of fun with it. We celebrated his day by having dinner at the Calif Grill. It was super.

My birthday is not until March. Maybe I should start planning to do something.

Cruz, I like your ticker. Only just over 14 months to go for you, getting excited, lol.

BTW, Go Sox.

We have dinning reservations at LeCellier on our first night so I'm calling that our birthday dinner - my friend's bday was the 19th and mine is tomorrow so August 30th is close enough in my book to celebrate both of our birthdays! :cheer2: I can't wait!!

Le Cellier sounds like a great place for a celebration dinner!!! Remember that we are expecting a trip report.

Hello! We're in the last week of summer mode. Earlier this month I went to Myrtle Beach with my 3 boys since my 13yo was in a baseball tournament (and one of my DIS friends drove out from TX to spend the week with us with her 2 boys). Lots of fun even though it was so hot. Then I brought my boys to Williamsburg and we spent a few days at Busch Gardens/Water Country.

Today is my 25th wedding anniversary, although given the state of my marriage I wouldn't call it celebrating (but we are going out to dinner). :thumbsup2

I hope everyone else is having a great summer. Looks like I have a couple pages to read in order to catch up.

She lives!!!! :woohoo:

I thought you had fallen off the face of the earth there T & B!

Congrats on the Silver Anniversary! :dance3: I take it you've hit a rough patch? Hang in there T & B, you've been together this long...there's got to be something holding you both together! I have a co-worker that just hit 25 years also, and they are having issues right now too! My 3rd wedding anniversay is next Tuesday! :thumbsup2 My husband and I did it backwards, we bought a house, then had a baby, bought another house, then got married! :rolleyes1

Well I signed up for TGM (thanks to you) last week, I just couldn't wait any longer. It is killing me to wait sooooooooo long but we have a lot of things to get in order first. I think it will be worth the wait because my aunts family and my grandmother (god willing she stays healthy enough  ) are joining us. My grandmother has only been there once in the early 80's, and the rest have never been. I think it will be great watching them see and do everything for the first time.
Only 444 days to go!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hi Tig!:wave2:

Hey wic, I don't mean to correct you, but thats not "backwards" it's just "out of order". Now I was "backwards"- child, marriage, house.........not proud, just honest!!!LOL

Congrats on 25 T&B. Wishing you all the best and have a great dinner. DW and I are at 21 and its not pixie dust every day.

Cruz, by the time your trip comes up you will be a TGM master. I think you will really like his site and his info.

Out of order, backwards.....same thing! :lmao: Trust me, my parents we not pleased.....but I was over 30 at the time, it's not like I was a teenager! My husband likes to tell everyone that we've been married 10 years, but only licensed for 3 of them! He's a little weird at times! :rolleyes1
So you finally bit the bullet and booked another Disney vacation...good for you!!!! :woohoo:

One bit of marriage advice...get counseling, whether individual or marriage (or both) BEFORE one or both of you has one foot out the door. BTW, I'm the one with a foot out the door and my husband will be crushed if and when the marriage ends. Before that happens, though, I need to go back to school and figure out what I want to do when I grow up...I've been a SAHM for a very long time.

BTW, I did things in the "correct order" and I'm still here. :rotfl: My rebel is coming out now, however, so I'll see what the future holds for me. :rolleyes1 :teeth:

DH and I did the counselling route about 6 years ago.....as I had one foot out the door also, and he realized I was serious about leaving. We still have bad days, but those days are now few and very far between! If you've been a SAHM for so long, then good for you for wanting to go back to school! :thumbsup2 . What are you looking at majoring in???? There's nothing wrong with being a rebel! :woohoo:

My DH knows that I'm serious about leaving...at least he should at this point. Not sure about the major, but it was social work before and I should have been fairly close to finishing up, but who knows how the old credits will transfer. Not to mention that it's a bit hard to support myself on that salary. With alimony it's possible, but I don't know the ins and outs of that. The being a rebel part might not go over too well with my DH. :rotfl:

Social work is good, but I've heard it doesn't pay well....even though based on what you have to do, you'd think it would pay extremely well! I want to say that college credits are only good for 10 years - but that could differ from state to state! You're very good with computers, maybe you should look into something to do with that! Maybe look into the medical field, I've been told that medical transcriptionists are high in demand that it pays really well.

Was your DH able to find a new job, I remember you saying a few weeks ago that he was laid off???

"With a rebel yell she yelled more, more, more" T&B you are a great writer. Have you considered doing something in that area. Maybe you are tired of being a SAHM and need to go out and challenge yourself. Always doing for the family and not looking out for yourself sometimes?? (PS I do not have a psychology degree but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night).

Remember, life is not all pixie dust. Hey, maybe I should add that to my sig.

Quoting Billy Idol, very impressive!!;)
Tig, I agree with trek, you are a wonderful writer.:teacher:
By the way, "its a nice day for a white wedding..." Okay so it doesn't work for everyone!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

My son's first football game of the year is this afternoon. It is just a scrimmage but I am looking forward to seeing how he is progressing. He is in 8th grade so next year he starts playing HS ball.

T&B how was dinner BTW?
